Introduction to the author: Margret was born in Atlanta in 1900.She was an American author and journalist.She attended Smith College but had to come home when her mother fell ill.After her mother's death, Margaret resolved that she had to make a home for her father and brother, so she left college and returned to Atlanta..One novel by Mitchell was published during her lifetime, the American Civil War-era novel, Gone with the Wind.For it she won the National Book Award for Most Distinguished Novel of 1936 and the Pulitzer Prize for Fiction.She wrote these books: Lost Laysen, The Big Four, Ropa Carmagin.Summary of the book: Scarlett O’Hara is a very charming young girl.Many young boys like her but she only loves Ashley Wilks.At the time of the party at Twelve Oaks Ashley said that he was going to get married to Melanie.While Scarlett was telling Ashley she loves him, Ashley didn’t take it.After he left Scarlett found out that there was a man was listening their conversation all the time.His name is Rhett butler.Scarlett was very angry and she wanted to get Ashley jealous.So she got married to Charles who is Melanie’s brother.But Ashley didn’t stop it.The next day the civil war began.Both Ashley and Charles attended the war.At this time Melanie’s aunt Pittyhat invited Scarlett to come and live with her.Two weeks later, they were told that Charles was dead.Poor Scarlett became a widow.The war was still going on and Melanie got pregnant.At the time of the baby’s birth Scarlett decided to move to her old house, Tara where she grew up.But they didn’t have any horse or coach.Rhett showed up and stole them a horse and a coach.In the middle of the trip Rhett left gave Scarlett a gun and Scarlett with Melanie and her baby and a servant finally arrived at her house.To her surprise, the nearby houses were crashed but only Tara was still there.Scarlett began working on the farm.Remember she used to be a well teach lady.The war was about to end and the south is losing.The tax of the farm became higher and higher.When Scarlett knew that the tax was 200 dollars but she can’t afford it.She went to the city and found Rhett.Rhett didn’t have any money.As she was leaving, Scarlett ran into Frank Kennedy who is betrothed to Scarlett's sister, Suellen, and running a store in Atlanta.Soon realizing Frank also has money, Scarlett hatches a plot and tells Frank that Suellen has changed her mind about marrying him.Frank was very upset and was attracted by Scarlett’s charm.Two weeks later they got married.The war ended and the south lost it.Good days didn’t last long, several days later frank was killed.Before she can cry any further, Rhett asks Scarlett to marry him saying, “I always intended having you, one way or another.” But Scarlett refused because she doesn’t want to be married again.But at last she accepted.They live happily and soon got a baby named bonnie.After that Scarlett got sick.When Scarlett is feeling well again, she makes a trip to the mill and talks to Ashley, who is alone in the office.In the conversation with him, she comes away believing Ashley still loves her and is jealous of her intimate relations with Rhett, which excites her.Scarlett returns home and tells Rhett she does not want more children.From then on, Scarlett and Rhett sleep in separate bedrooms, and when Bonnie is two years old, she sleeps in a little bed beside Rhett's bed(with the light on all night long because she is afraid of the dark).Rhett turns his attention towards Bonnie, dotes on her, spoils her, and worries about her reputation when she is older.When bonnie was 4 years old she was interested in horse-riding.But she died by an accident.Rhett was very sad and left Scarlett.Scarlett said that she truly loves Rhett but he doesn’t believe anymore.My comments on the book: I think this novel is worth reading.The writer didn’t write the whole love story but she wrote it very detail.In the book at first Scarlett loved Ashley but they cannot be together.She didn’t say Scarlett is very beautiful but she said she was sharply blended the delicate features.The story is very true and you can even feel Scarlett.Maybe that’s why people call it a timele claic.The author's use of prose was beautiful, all the scenes and action came alive for me.Some people seem to be offended by the racism in the book, but that's how things were back then.Sugar coating it would have ruined the story reducing it to a Harlequin romance.Particular points that interest or impre me: I chose this book because I have watched the movie twice.The movie was long and impreive.I think what is really attractive is the character Scarlett.She is a young and well taught.She should be sitting in the chair and reading a book instead of working in the farm day and night.That’s what I imagine a girl should do.She is very independent and very positive.She won’t be worried about anything.When she doesn’t have money she found Rhett.When Rhett doesn’t have money she got married to frank a busineman.Why didn’t she be panic? Because she always believes she will find a solution.She is also very truth worthy.Before Ashley go back to the battlefield he said he only hoped her to take care of Melanie.She agreed.When Scarlett wanted to go home Tara)she thought about leaving Melanie but she realized she promised Ashley.So she took great care for Melanie ever since.In the book there is one more thing that impreed me.That is be POSITIVE.Never feel hopele when you get in a trouble.If you feel hopele for yourself you will never find out a solution.Book rating:()Good()Fair()Poor
