After watching the film “Oliver Twist”, my feeling was down the book “Oliver Twist”, I was even bitter.I would never forget the little boy----Oliver.This book is generally telling a story about a little boy----Oliver, who grew from a poor boy always being put upon to a fortunate and happy one of a rich family.But what stuck in my mind most was the chapter about Oliver begging for porridge.It was the time when Oliver was still in workhouse, boys there were often empty-stomached.Their usual meal was a bowl of porridge, and no more.“Their bowls never wanted washing, for the boys polished them with their spoons till they shone again.” Everytime I encountered this sentence, tears filled my eyes.So chilling!They were little boys after all!
What’s more I saw was that a boy “was afraid he might some night happen to eat the boy who slept next to him, who happened to be a weakly youth of tender age”.How ridiculous!One must eat another in order to feed on himself!That’s so unbelievable, and my heart sank.However, the most tragic was always at last.Poor Oliver, who begged for more porridge, welcomed his painful and thrilling days.He was locked up in a dark and solitary room, suffering ruthle whip, “he was hung”.What’s worse, “a bill next morning pasted in the outside of the gate, offering a reward of five pounds to anybody who would take Oliver Twist off the hands of the Parish” almost sent Oliver to a cA boy, one life ,just counted five pounds!Where were your Were you just kidding on others lives? Or exactly speaking, the poor’s lives? I can’t image any more, only cold-blooded, nothing.Then look back on today’s society.Beggars, the poor, the disabled can be seen everywhere, but how many people are willing to be generous enough to share their foods, clothes, money with them?
