Internship Report
On November 3th to 4th, our department arranged us to participate in internship in the 11th Dalang international woolen knitwear fair.It was my first time to internship in Dalang.Dalang Town, the center of town in Guangdong Province, is located in Dongguan City in south-central area of 118 square kilometers, jurisdiction over 27 communities(villages), household population of 6.5 million people, with a floating population of nearly 30 million people.DaLang has become important hair products trade procurement base.The area of exhibition was nearly 200000 square meters, and it had more than 800 set up booths and more than 2000 bunks booth.I had not need to work for 4 days this time as the exhibition was not as large as the furniture fair in Houjie.I worked on the 1st and 2nd day.As on the 1st day, they had a meeting between foreign customers and Chinese customers, which is called WOOLEN CLOTHING PROFESSIONAL BUYER PRODUCTMENT MATCHMAKING SYMPOSIUM, they needed us to be the temporary interpreters.I have to say that this experience has been a very good one in my internships.I had not been an interpreter before and this was my first to do it.Therefore, I was nervous, very nervous.Thinking back to that day, I still feel my hands cold.In the beginning of the meeting, I was asked to work for an English customer who was not come with an interpreter.She was
nice because she never laughed at me even though I could not expre well.She gave me encourage smile when I stammer.She spoke slowly and clearly so that I could understand her meaning and translate it well to the Chinese customers.The Chinese customer is a nice couple.They would not pre me when I stopped to clear up my mind.When I could not understand what the foreign customer said, they still not blame me.They were nice and encouraged me a lot.After that I worked for a customer from Ecuador(Latin American countries, in the South
American continent)with my clamate.The Ecuador customer’s oral English was hard to understand, so at the beginning, we were hard to catch it.But he was not worried.He spoke slowly to us and sometimes when we could not understand him, he would say it again.This meeting had taught me a lot even if sometimes I only stood by listening other people’ words.I had learnt many things that I cannot find in the books and from my teachers.When I worked for the customers, I found that many profeional words I have not learnt from the books that I had to look them up in the dictionary.It made me know that if I want to improve myself, I need to go to the reality not deep in the books.Sometimes experience can teach you more than the books.The 2nd day, I acted as support crew, helping them to hold the new product release meeting.It was not an easy job.But we were both happy when we were in work.In this internship, I also found some shortcomings of the show.First day before admiion they did not tell the audience that the exhibition would begin at 11:00, so the people had been stuck in the counter in front of the ticket center.In the beginning of the admiion, they did not do a good job in taking measures of distribute tickets result that the audience did not line up to get tickets, just straight crowded.In chart center, the staff has not been in place, resulting in counter ticket
exchange order me.Also, exhibition at the entrance did not divert the audience well, making the audience stranded at the entrance for a period of time.But on the whole, this exhibition is very succeful.Even though two-day internship is short, I learnt a lot.I understand that the thinking ability of dealing with interpersonal relationships and working is very important.Therefore, no matter what kind of job I join in I must to ask myself to be responsible, to not be mindle.At work, I have to correct recognize the strengths and weak points of myself, and learn from the succeful experience of others, doing the job carefully.Thinking more about during the internship, and try to apply the knowledge I learned from the books to the crux of the reality of work.To summary the internship experience and knowledge especially for problems encountered in the internship seriously and timely, to analysis, ask other students, teachers, parents and friends for help, searching on the network, and find more and more effective way to identify problems
as much as poible and efforts to overcome by myself.I have to try my best to perfect my personality and attitude during the internship.
