Dear Mr Marc Raibert,I am a student in the School of Control Science and Engineering, Shandong University.Recently I have been devoted to do a research about quadruped robot with my teacher, and I was intrigued by the accomplishments of your company, especially your achievement about BigDog.It may be the world’s most advanced robot. Therefore, I wish to learn the basic techniques of developing quadruped robot for one year, preferably from September to next year.In my graduate years, I have worked very hard in Robot Research Center engaging in robot and related research and application. My mainly research area is quadruped robot as mentioned above.I have ever developed a mall quadruped robot with servo motor which have three freedom in each leg, and now we are intending to develop a hydraulically actuated quadruped robot. In addition, I have taken part in two National “863” program projects, two National Natural Science Foundation of China projects.Among them, we received a Second Prize of National Technology Progre and a Second Prize of Provincial Technology Progre. As you can see from my curriculum vitae, my GPA in major courses is 3.8/4.0 and I have remained top 5% of about 150 students.Because of my excellence performance in study and research, I have been awarded scholarships three times. In addition, I am well-prepared linguistically to further my studies in United States. My IELTS is 8.0 and my GRE is 140.Besides, I have a strong background in Mathematics and Science, excelling in subjects such as Calculus, Algebra, Probability and Statistics.I believe that Mathematics and other subjects such as Computer Science and Marketing, which also appeal to me, can be useful tools to the robot research.I would greatly appreciate it if you could send me more information about application at your earliest convenience.Sincerely yours
