Personal Statement
My love towards art and design emanated all through my childhood, and I received a series of
profeional training during A-level study in Sutton Valence School and CCW Art&Design
foundation course in University of the Arts London.Many of my works were exhibited and
earned many awards.I even opened my own online jewelry and acceory store one year ago,focusing on repair as well as redesign of jewelries.This is my first exciting experiment and
outstanding performance in the field of Jewelry Design.Additionally, I had made many friends
who are experienced antique collectors and jewelry craftsmen , they allowed me to acquire a
deeper understanding of interpersonal communications and inspiration of innovation.During my foundation study at CCW，I tried all kinds of courses related to materials and design,consistently looking for the field that I am mostly interested in.I have gained a wide knowledge of
art and design such as creative thinking, design techniques and design history.That is a fantastic
place as one of its best attributes is the policy ofinspiring me to make my own choices and
innovations.When I firstly saw Wan Baobao’s design, which were totally different from mine, I
was deeply moved, and thus came up with a brand new thinking of Jewelry Design.I am very
interested in photography and really good at it.I think perfect jewelry design deserves matched
with perfect photography to expre designer’s theme and spirit.Meanwhile, through
communications with my tutors and clamates, I had also found my weakne such as application
of colours, expreing my ideas, luckily I had conquered them with my endle effort and friends’
whole-hearted help.I believe that I will become a much more versatile and creative designer after
foundation course.Now I am very interested in Jewelry and Jewelry Design.With time flows, clothes will fade, food
will decay, youth will disappear , only jewelry will last forever.People use jewelry to expre their
affections, longing for disbursing as well as receiving love.Thus Jewelry Design is sacred and
well-worthy in my mind.Besides that, it is an effective way to realize my dream for creative
practices and value of life.As I know, CSM is an internationally renowned leading centre for jewelry design practices.I
highly admire the open educational style, abundant resources and wide cultural inclusivene of
your world-cla college.Fortunately, I have related formal background in this new and exciting
field, and thus decide to attend your college to continue my research.The projects **********in my portfolio will help you know my experiments on different materials and design forms.I
believe contemporary jewelry design with sustainable materials is of great importance--it will
advance the ecological protection and the sustainable development, in terms of human and society,and it will increase the circulation economy and cultivating an eco-friendly lifestyle.As a result, it
well both highlight the designer’s pursuit of beauty and responsibility for society.As for my personality, I have long-lasting patience and paion towards what I love.I could easily
get involved with creative meditation and practical design.However, I sometimes worry
exceively, but it does have the benefit of allowing me to see things from different perspectives,which enables me to think immensely with my insights into creative researches.For my future
development, I will take charge of my family enterprise.However, I will create my own jewelry brand at the same time, in order to realize my dream and make my family busine to a new peak.
