(昭陵六骏)
Emperor Taizong of the Tang Dynasty ordered to have his six war horses carved and put in front his tomb in order to commemorate them.They were painted by Yan Liben, a famous painter at the time. Saluzi(飒露紫)and Quanmaogua(拳毛剐), were smashed into smaller pieces and carried them away by Carl W.Bishop.The rest four were cut into four pieces and almost packed ready to be shipped away when they were stopped and moved into the museum. Stone sculpturing began in the Northern Wei Dynasty(386-534)and later western styles of sculpture were aimilated to make it a new style.Most stone carvings here are figures of Buddha.Li Er（李耳）
Statue of Li Er（李尔）, the founder of Daoism.It was probably sculpted by Yuan Jia’er(元伽儿), a famous sculptor of from Western Region(西域).It was one of the masterpieces of the Tang Dynasty.This statue was found in the Temple of Laomu(老母殿)atop of Li Shan hill.What you have to cover:
