New Frontiers Teaching aims：
■ To practise listening strategies for completing notes.■ To practise clarifying and asking questions.■ To practise explaining a robot to another person.■ To discu the effect of technology and the media on different cultures and language.Teaching important and difficult Points: 1.to get the Ss know how to complete notes 2.to get the Ss know how to clarify and ask questions 3.to get the Ss know how to explain a robot by using the key words and expreions they’ve learned
Teaching Aids：
The multimedia, a tape recorder and the
blackboard Teaching Approaches：task-based approach Teaching proce: Step 1 Lead-in 1.Show some pictures of robots in some famous science fiction movies
2.Inspire the Ss to talk about something they know about
Step 2 Pre-listening(Background information & Word learning)1.Show a video clip from the movie “A.I.”
2.Lead the Ss to understand some key words and expreions Step 3 While-listening 1.play the tape and ask the Ss to try to complete the notes in the Function File
Check the Ss’ answers after the listening
3.give them a few minutes to read the new words freely ,tell them if they can’t read the words, encourage them to ask the teacher.Step 4 listening 1.Before you start
