Proceed „Shuang chuang‟ for a better city!Good afternoon ladies and gentlemen I grew up in Hainan Haikou, a beautiful city which has a wonderful natural landscape and mysterious local culture.I love Haikou because of thecalmweather, picturesque sunsetsand relaxing lifestyle.Thesegreatfeatures of Haikou are worthy of praiseand should be preserved.Howeverover the past decade, Haikou hasfacedincreasing preure frompollution and traffic congestion.With these inevitable threats our localgovernmentstrugglesto keep a heathy balance between our city development and living environment.So, as a part of society, how can we contribute to the city for the better? Let me ask you a question;have you ever seen garbage on the street? Think about a young foreign girl who might visitHaikou city for the first time and seetrashin Ever-greenPark, how wouldshe feel? She would probably say, “What a beautiful park but it is ruined by rubbish everywhere!Is this how the Hainanese people always treat their city? Not very civilized, my hometown is much better than here.” As a result, that girl might never come back andmay even tell her friends of our dirty parks.Ladies and Gentlemen, our government has introduced the„Shuangchuang‟ policy and exerted so much effort to keep our city in better order.We should behave ourselves and take some responsibility as good citizens.We can prove to the world that we all can do this!Let me ask you another question;“Have you seen a clean river and a wild flower? Have you heard the voice of the songbirds? My parents said yes…in their youth, they used to bathe in the river, sing with the birds and lay down on the flower bed appreciating the wonderful nature.But thatall has gone now.The young generation haven‟t seen a bright sky and transparent river so they tend to dream about the outside world and forgot about their own places.My dear friends, ourbeautiful city needs to be built and kept withour own hands.Let us fill our hearts with kindne and good intentions.Let us save our natural resources;let us plant more trees to make our city greener;Let us all believe that one day Haikou willbe a unique and impreive place forourforeignersto stay!Our city still has a long way to go as it faces many economic and political challenges.However if my speech touches every soul here tonight, I believe it shall go forth beyond this competition and be a great succe.Ladies and Gentlemen, believe me, together we canrebuild our city.Together we canmake it a more comfortable place to live.Together we cangive our future generation a city to be proud of.Sing: What we should do in Shuangchuang, everybody should know by heart.Building national civilized city, making healthy place for life.Said official, we should‟be all in, joint forces by heart.For our city better and prettier, we should work harder to make it come ture.Thank you.
