In your opinion, what is “happy cla”?
Good afternoon ladies and gentlemen!It is a great honour for me to give a speech here;my speech is about “in your opinion, what is happy cla?”
As we can see, some teachers can‟t bring happine to their students in cla.Many teachers take too much time to teach and just tell the students to keep only the knowledge in mind.Students have to just listen to and accept their teacher‟s ideas.How can they feel happy in cla or interested in school?
In my opinion, a happy cla should be one in which both the teacher and the students feel quite happy.First, teachers should try their best to create a warm atmosphere for the students, so that they are relaxed and participate more.Teachers should also bring laughter to their cla.Besides, Teachers should not just be good teachers but also be friends of their students.They should remember that students are people too.I think I‟m very popular with my students because I‟m a humorous teacher.I look on all my students as my friends.In my cla, I give them clear and simple directions.I try to help them feel comfortable when they ask and answer questions.I use examples from their daily life.For example, once when we were learning the attributive clause, I asked, “Do you know Wu Jimin?” “Yes,” They answered, “He was admitted into Beijing University after he graduated from our school.” Then I asked, “Can you say something about Wu Jimin using attributive clause?” They were very excited about this task and happily told me their answers: Wu Jimin who once studied in Linzhang No.1 Middle School has set a good example for all of us.It is said that Wu Jimin whose parents are both farmers studied very hard.In 2008 I taught a student called Gu Huifen.She is Gu Zhenfeng‟s sister.Just last week she called to tell me how happy she and her clamates were when they had my English cla.She said they could learn things easily, gladly and effectively because my cla was often full of jokes, games and discuions.What impreed her most was my interesting questions: “Why is a river so rich?” “Why do people say „smiles‟ is the longest word in English? The answers are: a river has two “banks”；there is a “mile” between the first letter and the last letter of the word “smiles”.To put it briefly, if they are happy while learning, the students will be more interested and learn more.This is my talk from my experiences, which I am sharing with you today.Thank you for your attention!
