Good afternoon, ladies and gentlemen,thank you for taking time out of your busy schedule to come here to attend this meeting.I’m honored to be here and discu topics about respect and appreciate to teachers in English.First of all, we must thank all of our English teachers,without them we wouldn’t read any English word,let alone speak in English.Today, many talent and knowledgeable colleagues gather here, some of you are genus.So I’m not going to say any major principles,I just want to share a small interesting story with you.Perhaps,we would get something from the story.About two thousand years ago, one day,a young man named Zhang Liang, walked around because of boring ,then happened to meet an old man on a small bridge,who looks like no more than ordinary.The old man saw Zhang Liang approached, then he deliberately to let his shoes fall from bridge and asked zhangliang to get for him.Although Zhang felt a bit unhappy, he went down and got shoes for him.However, as Zhang Liang picked up the shoesfor him, the old man actually asked Zhang Liang to help him put the shoes on.Zhang kneeled to help him put on the shoes.Without thanks, the old man turned away.The story went here, how we feel?Yes,we all think that the old man is too much, although you are the elderly, should be respected, but shouldn’d you thank the young man who picked up shoes for you, right?Surprisingly, after a while the old man came back, and told Zhang:“You deserve my teaching！Three days later, at dawn, right here ,wait for me.”Zhang didn’t know why the old man asked himself to wait for him.Three days later at dawn Zhang came here according to the convention,but when he got there,he found that the old man was there waiting for him.Then the old man got angry and said:“How dare you be late for a date with an old man like me? It’s too rude!Three days later,the same palce ,wait for me!”Then he left.So,three days later, Zhang once again came to the small bridge before dawn.To his suiprise,the old man still already be there.Of course, the old man got more angry this time, and said the same words as last time, and then left.This time, Zhang Liang no longer dare to be late, so he came to the bridge at midnight to wait.After a while,the old man slowly came to the bridge.Seeing Zhang, the old man nodded with satisfaction, and then came up with an old book from his pocket, and said:“You should carefully study this book, so that you will be able to become the emperor's teacher in the future.”Until Zhang took the book back, he knew that it’s a military book handed down from ancient times, and then he carefully study the book, 10 years later, he really became Han emperor Liu Bang's staff.So, do not look down an ordinary person,especially teachers, maybe they are genius and talent, you can learn from him or her unique skills,so that you could be the teacher of an emperor ,who knows?As the words says, “There must be my teacher in three people” I believe that most of you here have heard the story of Guiguzi’s two students :PangJuan and Sun Bin, The grievance between them has become history, but I think, although Pang Juan is not as good as Sun Bin, if he occasionally went back to visit his teacher Guigu Zi and ask him methods and strategies to beat the enemy , his end would not be so miserable.So I suggest that, in order to make great contributions one day, or to avoid your end is too miserable, please respect and appreciate your teacher.It is best to take the time to visit them.Maybe some one will say that:“I have no ambition, I just want a simple and plain life.”But you always need to learn the neceary life skills, right? Shouldn’t you respect and appreciate the teachers who teach you life skills?
