Good afternoon,everyone, First of all ,I want to tell you something.About one month ago ,the premier of Iceland went to visit China with her wife.The first time I saw the title of this piece of news ,I was a little shocked ,and I thought that there must be something wrong with that.How could a lady marry another lady ? I had never met such thing before.It sounded ridiculous.But later ,it turned that I was wrong.Maybe some of you had gone through the same feeling with me when you first saw it.Maybe some of you didn’t.Whatever, this piece of news As I know ,in June 27,2010,Iceland enacted the law which acknowledged that homosexual was legal, and the premier got married with her girlfriend the same day.Many countries and places in the world ,such as Netherlands, Switzerland, great Britain and several states in the United States have paed the legislation that marrying the same gender is legal.Well, since so many dare to make such a step ,why can’t our government do such thing? Why can’t we accept such thing?—to acknowledge that marriage between the same gender is legal.The famous philosopher of Germany , Hegal ever said, ”something existing must be something reasonable.” Homosexual is born to be homosexual, just like the straight is born to be the straight.It’s up to your gene.And this relationship is similar to right hander and left hander.Because most of you are right handers, then you can have a prejudice against left handers.That is wrong ,totally wrong.The whole society should accept those homosexuals as we accept those left handers.Of course ,because of our Chinese traditional culture ,it is very difficult for us to accept that homosexual is natural.Just imagine this ,if one day your roommate says to you, “I think I have fallen in love with you.”How would you feel? I gue that you must think that gay is crazy ,and this is so incredible.However ,finally you will accept this someday.We are all human beings ,and we advocate humanism.Each of us wants to be respected by others, no matter what kind of race we are ,what kind of gender we are ,or what kind of sexual orientation we are.Please think more for homosexuals.In fact, nothing is different between them and us.For our humanism ,goverment should play a very important role.the first and the most important step is to pa the legislation.And this can lead to a right direction of public opinion.Please open your mind ,and try something fresh ,something different ,something you may never believe in the past.We are students of Xi’an JiaoTong University ,so we should be the first to aart the wild in our minds.
