Speech for graduation ceremony---------------------Cuixia(Kate)Zhang Respected President Carol Leary, Provost Morri-Olson Dear Clamates Beloved Friends My wonderful Parents and little boy in front of computers, Ladies and Gentlemen: Good evening!I am so honored and so pleased to stand here;you have all contributed to this moment!Everyone looks amazing!After completing my bachelor’s degree in China, I worked for eleven years in education, politics and busine.Realizing that I need further education, I requested a leave of absence from my employer, left behind my family on the other side of the ocean.Like all of you, I have dedicated myself to my Master’s.I am sure a lot of clamates feel the same way, looking back, the adaptation was not always easy.But we made it with our diligence and intelligence.Nothing can be more rewarding than immersing yourself into a new culture.Think about it, Asians share something in common, we are taught more to be humble, reserved and to conduct ourselves with discipline.But in a culture of individualism, almost for everything, you have to speak out, to be heard.Dating back to Shakespeare, “all the world’s a stage, and all the men and women merely players.” In most cases, a player has to speak out, to show.When I reflect upon my experience here I recall the countle pitching way of doing busine.You make preparation for pitching, you pitch yourselves and your work, and then it goes to your succe, your wow moment.Before your exit on stage, we only have one chance to make an impreion in life, we must project it!” Sometimes you cannot be reserved, international students are not inferior to anyone, as you achieve what native speakers achieve in a second language, some even outdo in performance.If you do not want to be a hidden polished gem, you must be a loudspeaker to achieve your aim.Bay Path has offered us a lot;I cannot help but to share its confidence.I feel so empowered!We have a confidence that will never break no matter how many setbacks have hit us;a confidence that is embedded in our hearts, a kind of nutrition in our cells that no one can take away.That confidence is what makes our spines straight and makes us strong.For Henry Ford tells us, “Whether you think you can, or you think you can't--you're right.to give endle encouragement to others, to bring out the best in everyone, empower everyone around you!Confidence is true leadership which makes Caesar wow: “I came, I saw, I conquered.” Because confidence defeats anxiety, timidity, frustration and depreion.Confidence holds you together in difficulty.In the trip of life, not every day is a happy day, but confidence tells you: “Tomorrow is another day!” Dear clamates, you are leaders of your future.
