We are living in the Information Age.Every day, we get updates from newspapers, from TV programs, and from people around us.We are so used to receiving that we barely stop to check the validity of things we hear.And that is the main cause of some misunderstandings.It is also true when it comes to the topic of “post-90s”.People’s ideas vary from group to group, the discuion of the post-90s common characteristics is raising more attention.The general impreion of post-90s are these, they are shallow, arrogant and weird.As a post-90s myself, I have to take a stand and explain something.First, the generation of us adapt perfectly to the fast-changing world, that’s what we are proud of.We were mostly born at the initial stage of Internet’s developing in China.Time has taught us a lot.The society changes, so should we.Like the growth of Internet, it’s a proce of continuous trials and setbacks.The spirit of seeking the truth is what makes the proce go.One devoted effort does not necearily promise a happy ending.However, at least we know another impoible way and we can say we are a step closer to what we want to achieve.And what’s more, when we are not capable of changing things around us, we change ourselves.Second, the generation of us keeps good shape of what we should be.Some say we are shallow and never ready to treat things seriously.It’s not always like what they said.See what a big load of information the Internet delivers each day.So in order not to be devoured or kidnapped by that huge amount of information, we choose to be selective and critical.As for things like celebrity going-ons and soap opera bubbles, we give nothing more than a glimpse.For information practical to our study or work, we choose to be serious.Unfortunately, that state of mind was commonly interpreted as being shallow.But for us, it is supposed to be the reasonable solution to tackle the information burden.That’s the Zeitgeist.That is what we should act currently.Third, the generation of us can handle the diversity of the time more properly and develop our unique characteristics.The Internet made the big earth a global village, so unified and so tiny that we are practically exposed to the same resources of information every day.So we believe what makes us different is the uniquene of individual thoughts.The eagerne to find the truth urges us to separate facts from meages with personal interpretations.We demand higher perspectives and chances to judge for ourselves.This mid-autumn festival, I went to Shanghai Expo.In the USA Pavilion, the video clips depicting core values and spirits of America really impreed me a lot.When a little boy said in a naive voice: “I want to power cars with my juice.” When a teenage girl, after many failures, has managed to transform a trash area into a community garden.I was deeply moved.That’s the very spirits the generation of us cherish and encourage.To sum up, we are the ones who can fit ourselves in the fast-paced society.We are sharp in finding facts and analyze the advantages and disadvantages of living with the Internet.We are who we are, no copying, just make it different.Thank you very much.
