What We Can’t Afford to Lose
A saying of Tagore goes that：“Faith is a bird, dawn or dark, it touches the dawn praise”.I take this as my motto.Just like the light on the tunnel, faith gives me hope, I can’t afford to lose it.Faith to me is what wings to the bird.It is the strength that guides me in the darkne;it is the resource that lets me believe I can when others say I can’t;it is the power that keeps me strive again.I still remember when I was a freshman, everything around me changed.There were so many things I have to learn.I saw the difference.During that period of time, I was totally lost.I didn’t know how I could make a difference, and how I could become more excellent.There was no guide or direction for me.Many a time had I nearly gave up halfway when I lost faith.A voice deep down my heart said to me:“believe yourself ,make a good plan and keep fighting, you can make a difference”.So, this is why I’m here.It is the faith of believing myself that pushes me ahead.Without faith, I can hardly imagine what’s my life would be.Abraham Lincoln, one of the greatest presidents on American history, had suffered from countle adversities in his life: the death of his two sons;the failure of his busine;the ridicule from his political opponents and so on.But he still realized his goals.Why could he be so succeful and make a great change to American history? It was because of faith, faith of believing himself.“I am not bound to succeed, but I am bound to1
live up what light I have”, he said.Faith was the light that gave him strength to fight.Napoleon Hill once said：“Faith is the basis of all miracles”.Faith to us is something we cannot afford to lose.It was faith that kept a person struggle for 172 hours in a disastrous earthquake;it was faith that helped Stephen William Hawking make a great contribution to physics despite his disability;it was faith that supported us to strive again when we were discouraged.So, ladies and gentlemen, have a strong faith and believe yourself, miracles will happen to you!
