My Thought on The Japanese Movie ‘Departures’
As an English major student, I always reject Japanese movies.Besides, I have no interest in movies about death.But after watching the Departures, I was moved.My thoughts seemed activated and spread far about life.Seeing the death in the movie, many people may think about themself or their parents and even worry about the future death.Strangely, I do not have a tiny thought about these things.Maybe, the idea of living today well and cherishing the happy moments makes me ignore the death.I think this idea is also the one what the movie want to convey.At the beginning , the leading actor’s life can be a ma, losing his music career, burdening a heavy debt.When accepting the new job as a departure, he even regards it as a punishment from the God.Later, all the surrounding people look down about his job.Embarraed as he is, he doesn’t give up and gradually likes the job much.Eventually, he wins all the peoples’ understanding and respect of the job.Sometimes, life is unfair and always against you, but what you have to do is ignore it and move forward.Respect the life, recall the dead and give him or her the beauty.That is what a departure do and I think that’s the point keeping the hero doing the job, even risking losing the marriage.Besides, I would like to praise the hero’s wife.Based on love, she gives up the city life and moves to village with her husband.For the belief that life will be better, she doesn’t blame too much about the heavy debt and finally understands her husband’ insisting of the departure job.I have to say, having a considerate wife is so important!
