Ladies and Gentlemen, good morning!It’s my honor to stand here, giving you a short speech.My topic is “Make the Internet Clean for The Youths.” First, I’d like to ask you 2 questions:
How often do you surf the Internet in a week?
What do you usually do with the help of the Internet?
As is known to all, the Internet has become an eential tool in our daily life.It provides us with a large quantity of latest information as well as a variety of entertainments, with which we can lead a colorful life in our spare time.Nowadays there are so much information on the internet involving violence, salacity or some other unhealthy contents, which will do harm to the physical and mental health of the youths.Some youths abandon themselves in the Internet, caring le about their family and study.What’s more, after being engaged in the virtual world filled with violence, killing, and hatred and so on for a long time for example, the youths tend to be more irritable, namely, they get easily annoyed.They just lose themselves.As we know, the youths are playing an extremely important role in
Chinese future.Therefore, it’s of great neceity and importance to build a clean environment over the Internet for the youths, so that they can make the best of the Internet without being poisoned by some unhealthy contents of it.What measures shall we take to construct a clean environment on the Internet for the youths? Some suggest that we can simply cut down the time of their surfing on the Internet.That sounds nice, but it won’t work, for it doesn’t fundamentally solve the problem.To achieve the goal, there are mainly three aspects, from which we should still work hard.First, the network operators should by no means convey or spread any unhealthy contents.Second, the educators, the parents as well as the schools, should pay more attention to educating the youths, protecting them from ill temptations.Last, the youths themselves should improve their ability of self-control.The Internet is a so-called “double-edged sword”, only when we build a safe and clean environment for the youths, will they be able to make use of this powerful tool.That’s all for my speech.Thank you very much!
