Good evening, my honorable judges and my dear audiences.I feel great honor standing here and have a chance to make a speech.Today, my topic is how traditional culture affects modern society.It is known that our society consists of software and hardware, and the culture is the most important part of software.Even though surroundings we live in are changing and our concept is updating.Traditional culture is always influencing our modern society deeply in many ways.First of all, traditional elements can be found in modern world directly.For example, we can see rock lions in front of some landmark buildings ,such as governments，courts and banks.Even the decoration indoor is also Sinicism.Modern society gets lots of inspiration from works of art.The Auspicious Clouds torch is regarded as the most beautiful torch in the modern time, its design inspiration originates from Chinese claical patterns such as painted scroll and brocade.What’s more, we follow traditional customs.When the New Year is coming, we stay up late and wait for its coming.After the striking of the 12’s clock, parents will give children lucky money.Families get together, chat, laugh, and eat dumplings.We also visit families and friends，and send them best wishes.We celebrate traditional festivals in different ways.It is the history and culture that make up the nation.Last but not least, what affects us mostly in traditional culture is our conception on the world view, life view and value view.Loyalty，filialne, faithfulne，politene，honesty are the outstanding merits, which is still our basis for living in our society.Conceptions lead actions, actions lead social tendency.However, there is no doubt that there are some bad traditions having negative effect to social development, such as sexual discrimination，superstition like burning paper money.However, we can infer that certain part of traditional culture which against social tendency will be sifted out by the social improvement.Above the analysis we can find that no matter what kind of traditional cultural, good or bad, influences us a lot.We should have a correct attitude towards them, discard the dro and select the eence as well.That’s all for my speech, thanks for listening.
