“N-Geners” coming to the stage
When asked “what is the most influential creation in the 20th century?”, the first answer occurs to me is definitely the internet.As a useful tool, the internet provides a brand new way of life for today’s human being.What’s more, to some extent, it also creates a special generation, and that is us, the net generation.Born between the year 1982 to 1991, we have grown up in an environment in which we are constantly exposed to computer-based technology.That’s why we are so different.As we grow up and become more influential, receiving both compliment and criticism for the other generations.we, the N-geners, are coming to the stage.No one can deny that, thanks to the internet, we are smarter and more knowledgeable;we are more independent and more confident.We are adaptable and always willing to learn.We are open-minded, for we receive all kinds of views from people who have all kinds of culture background in the world.We are creative, for we never have any limit in our thinking, believing everything is poible with the help from the world-wide web.However, being the fortune’s favored kids, our performances on the stage are not always pleasing to the other generations.Sometimes, we go too far and become too pretentious.We sometimes behave not so moderate as the older generations.We are too much spoiled by the enjoyment of the modern technology, so we stop paying attention to devotion and struggle.We are so used to getting everything in the fastest way, that we do not like studying anything deeply and we are lack of patience and perseverance to a large extent.Then here comes a question, are we really that controversial?
Of course not.Although we’ve changed a lot, we still value some of the good traditions, and follow them in our new way.We like traditional Chinese culture, sharing lots of pictures and articles concerning Chinese food, traditional buildings, art works and so on in our own pages to show our support.We still love helping others, helping someone we even don’t know to find information which is useful for them to solve their problems.We still concern a lot about our families, always in touch with them whenever we’re away from them, especially on special festivals.We still pay attention to all the hot iues, expre our concern about the society and take our role on the stage as the masters of the future world.No one can forget the huge On-The –Net Olympic torch relay among us, the Chinese young people.I myself, just like other N-geners, expreed our anger toward those people who tried to offend the relay of the torch, and our support to our great motherland on the Internet in this way.During that period, we changed our appearance into the image of heart-shaped China’s national flag to show our love of our nation.It was really moving to see that China’s national flags were flying acro the world, and in the internet world too.While we were helping our country win respect from other countries, we won the respect for our
generation as well.So friends, please trust us.Although we need more time to become mature, more failure to improve, more tolerance and guidance, we can play the key role on the stage, and play well.Armed with such a useful tool, our net generation won’t let you down.So take a look, we are coming, ready to show.Please wait and see our net generation.
