Good afternoon!My topic is “my understanding of the harmony of society”.How do you feel, when you go shopping, some people don’t follow the queue? How do you feel, when a lady is hit by a car, bleeding and groaning, the car ran away and people around just walk around indifferently? How do you feel, when the rich enjoy their lives in their 200-square-meter houses, homele people
have to run the streets and orphans cry hopelely? How do you feel, when some people receive the best medical treatments, some others can do nothing but just lie down waiting to die? How will you feel, when the selfish busineman make fake products, innocent people have to pay prices? Yes, You must feel hurt, depreed, frustrated, and even angry.However, have you ever tried to figure it out what difficulties are we facing to overcome? Have you wondered what is the characteristic of a harmonious society and what we can do to help build a harmonious society? Our President Hu Jintao has said that a harmonious society should feature democracy, the rule of law, equity, justice, sincerity, amity and vitality.In my opinion, it is such a society that will give full scope to people’s talent and creativity, enable all the people to unite ,cooperate and devote;it is such a society that people love, trust, respect, encourage, care for each other;it is such a society that all low-income people could lead a high-standard life and the vast countryside would be stable and prosperous;it is such a society that people have the freedom to talk and their voices will be heard and taken into consideration;it is such a society that few crimes occur, people here have high moral standard and legal awarene;it is such a society that the building of spiritual civilization and material civilization go hand in hand;it is such a society that could balance different interests and strive to ensure equality for all in terms of personal rights, opportunities, welfares and wealth distribution;it is such a society that we not only live in harmony with each other, but also with natural environment ,and so on.American President Kennedy once said, Ask not what the country can do for you，ask what you can do for the country.Building a harmonious society is not just a government, a group, or a person’s responsibility, but depends on everybody, everyone, you, just here, sitting and listening to my words.Take Wenchuan earthquake as an example, people all over the country united as a great wall to fight against earthquake and relieve the disaster after the misfortune fall on Sichuan.Surely enough ,if we instill love, trust, tolerance, elegance, mercy and gratefulne in our heart , there is no chance that we won’t live in harmony with each other and the environment.Ladies and gentlemen: believe in me, with everybody’s efforts, the Harmonious Society finally comes!My brothers and sisters, that is our faith, we are a family!Last, I will say thanks from the bottom of my heart, thank you for listening my speech and sharing my viewpoint, thank you!
