Good morning / afternoon, everyone.My name is …, I come from Zhenjiang, a beautiful city next to Nanjing.Today I’m so glad to be here with you and I’d like to share my stories with two of my good friends with you.Who are they? Have a gue: They are Pingpang and English.On one hand, they are totally different from each other.As one is from the west and the other was born in China.But on the other hand, they have many things in common.Firstly, they both need confidence.Whatever we do, confidence in ourselves must come first.The first time when I played pingpang with my father, he told me “You must believe that you can beat the person on the other side of the table.” The first time when I learned English, my teacher told me that “Open your mouth and be confident.” Whenever I meet difficulties, I’ll remember their words and tell myself “I can make it!”
Secondly, they both need paion.Without paion, life is just like a pool of dead water.When we play pingpang, we have to keep picking up the ball everywhere and when we learn English, there are always many English words, phrases, sentences to remember.Sometimes I feel bored and just want to give up.Then it’s paion that makes me enjoy the proce and helps me go on.Last but not least, they both need persistence.Practice makes perfect.Until now I play pingpang at least twice a week and read English every day.Without persistence, I can’t stand here;Without persistence, I
can’t go far both in playing pingpang and learning English.Do you agree with me? However, my friend English has won great popularity around the world, while the same isn’t true of my friend pingpang, except some Asian countries.So I hope more and more people in the west can make friends with pingpang, just like more and more Chinese people have been friends with English.Then I believe we can get better understanding of each other and live in a harmonious world.Thank you very much for your attention.
