Hello, every one, my speech is about my hometown—Shaanxi Province.May I ask all of you a question at beginning? What would you think of when you talk about Shaanxi Province?
Shaanxi is considered one of the cradles of Chinese civilization.Thirteen feudal dynasties established their capitals in Shaanxi province during a span of more than 1,100 years, from the Zhou Dynasty to the Tang Dynasty.When we referred to the historic position of Shaanxi Province, Xi’an must be introduced first.Xi'an is also known as Chang'an before the Ming dynasty.Xi’an is the capital city of several the most important dynasties in Chinese history, including Zhou, Qin, Han, Sui, and Tang.Furthermore, Xi'an is the starting point of the Silk Road.In addition to Xi’an, Xianyang, Hanzhong, Yanan and my birthplace Baoji also play an important role in the history of Shaanxi province even China.So there are many famous historical attractions and beautiful natural scenery in Shaanxi Province, including historic heritages, museums and national parks.The historic heritages such as Giant Wild Goose Pagoda,Small Wild Goose Pagoda, Bell Tower, Drum Tower, Ming dynasty city wall, Great Mosque, Black Dragon Temple, Mausoleum of Qin Shi Huang and his Terracotta Army, Maoling Mausoleum, Qianling Mausoleum, Famen Temple, Yang Guifei(719-756)Tomb, Huaqing Hot Springs(华清池)and the Lantian hominine foils relic, and so on;The museums such as Shaanxi History Museum, Xi'an Museum, Forest of Steles, the underground museum of Han Yang Ling, the Neolithic Banpo Museum；The national parks and the natural scenery such as Reconstructed Daming Palace(大明宫)National Heritage Park, Mount Cuihua(翠华山)National Geological Park, Mount Zhongnan(终南山)National Forest Park, Mount Lishan(骊山)National Forest Park and and Mount Taibai(太白山)National Forest Park, Mount Huashan(华山), HuKou waterfall(壶口瀑布), and so on.Besides, the characteristics snacks and the unique social customs and habits as well as the extraordinary education strength are impreive equally.(As the photos showing at PowerPoint).Now Xi’an is the capital of Shaanxi province, and it has re-emerged as an important cultural, industrial and educational center of the central-northwest region, because of its facilities for research and development, national security and China's space exploration program.In the end, I welcome all of you travel to my hometown--Shaanxi province.
