Ladies and gentlemen, Good afternoon,First of all, On behalf of Beijing International Studies University, I’d like to extend my heartfelt thanks to the embay for giving us the precious opportunity of presence here today, which is the highest acknowledgment towards the education in BISU.We really appreciate this opportunity by carefully selecting the participants through interviews.And finally 35 out of hundreds students are lucky enough to have the privilege to be present here today.Beijing International Studies University(BISU)was founded in 1964 at the suggestion of China’s late premier Zhou Enlai.BISU boasts a wide range of disciplines such as Literature, Economics, Management and Law, and serves as an important base for training profeionals with international horizon and hands-on skills and experiences in foreign affairs, tourism and busine for the capital city of Beijing and the nation at large.In fact, BISU has been bleed with the support from China’s state leader since its founding.Our miion and vision is to distinguish itself with the enhanced teaching and research of Foreign Language and Tourism Management as our signature programs, producing interdisciplinary1 / 3
talents of international horizon and cro-cultural awarene as a Teaching-Research university with international reputation for its signature programs and popularity among students.“To train profeionals with up-to-date knowledge and hands-on experiences” has been our commitment over the last fifty years.Foreign language teaching enjoys a time-honored history as the backbone of BISU, as the “Model Program” of Beijing.One of the earliest in China, the Tourism Management program is also one of the best nationwide, which was accredited and awarded the Four-year Accreditation by the World Tourism Organization, the highest of its kind.Since it was founded, BISU maintains a long-term friendly cooperative relationship with the outside world, making interschool cooperation and exchange its uniquene and merits.Thanks to the vigorous endeavor of all parties, BISU maintains a long-term friendly cooperation and exchange with more than 130 universities and educational institutions around the world in over 20 counties and regions.Cooperative relationship was established through academic exchanges, scholar exchanges, student exchanges and exchange of information and resources.Meanwhile, BISU attaches great importance to both imparting of knowledge and capacity building.Students are encouraged to take
part in a wide range of events on campus and beyond, highlighting on their language proficiency and expertise in their own fields.And what’s more, students are encouraged to study hard to make contributions to the society and to and whole world.And for sure, today’s visit will add more encouragement and inspiration to them.Another thing to mention is that there are still hundreds of them who do not have the privilege to be here despite of their excellence.to them we fell sorry, and we do hope that they will be lucky enough to make it here next time, and so we look forward to furthering our cooperation with Norway embay, so that we can provide more chances to those who do not have the opportunity of coming here today, and so that we don’t have to be sorry to them.Thank you!
