Good afternoon,everyone.I’m Cui Miao.Today I’d like to talk about an art form, music.It is commonly believed that music is an important way to
expreing one's feelings and emotions.Music tells us who we are as well as reflects our thinking ,values and the social environment it came from.What’s more, there is no doubt that music brings us happine and enjoyment.As we know, in the long run of history, music vary from period to period.Today I want to introduce a special style of music, Baroque music.Baroque music describes a style of European claical music approximately extending from 1600 to 1750.This era is said to begin in music after the Renaiance and was followed by the Claical era.The word “baroque” came from the Portuguese word barroco, meaning “mihapen pearl”.That is to say, the typical characteristic of Baroque music is replacing the old with the new , though it may be irregular, exaggerated as well as grand.Most of Baroque music is church music, which is full of paion and worship.The Baroque age brought an new interest in instrumental music, especially,Organ.I think you have heard the music played with the Organ.In the Pirates of the Caribbean ,the octopus played with it.When we talk about Baroque music, we have to mention two famous musician , Bach and Handel.Bach is known as the Father of Music.He left a large amount of music, and his St.Matthew's Paion is highly valued.Handel is also a prolific composer.Rinaldo is one of the most succeful work.All in all, Baroque music is so beautiful that we should spend some time hearing it and enjoying it.Maybe you will be fond of Baroque music as well as learn something from it.
