2007年9月6-8日，“世界经济论坛首届新领军者年会”在美丽的海滨城市大连召开，本届年会的主题为“变化中的力量平衡”。本文为大连市市长夏德仁在年会闭幕式上的讲话：
夏德仁：尊敬的施瓦布主席，尊敬的戴相龙市长，尊敬的各位来宾，女士们先生们，大家晚上好，时间过的真快，过去的这三天，我们觉得是令人激动和难以忘怀的三天，因为尊敬的施瓦布主席，以其非凡的智慧和卓越的领导才能，打造了一个成功的首届新领军者年会，我认为此次年会实现了一次跨越，从西方到东方，从达沃斯精神到大连精神。世界经济论坛凝聚了更大的商业和思想力量，也向世界展示了在新的时期，它引领世界经济潮流的更加积极的力量。
Honorable Chairmen Schavob, Mayor Dai Xianglong, distinguished guests, ladies and gentlemen, good evening.Where did time go? The past three days, we think has been exciting and unforgettable.Honorable chairman Schavob, with his distinctive intelligence and leadership, succefully built the inaugural annual meeting of the new champions.I think this annual meeting built a bridge acro west and east, the spirits of Davos and the spirits of Dalian.World Economic Forum wef gathered more in busine and thoughts.It showed the modern world its increasing influence on guiding the world economic current.我们看到有1700多位国内外嘉宾云集大连，共同探讨当今世政治经济等领域的问题，会议高度关注全球发展变化中的力量平衡，各位嘉宾就“新领军者”在世界格局变化中的作用、世界经济新秩序建立以及人口资源环境等全球面临的共同问题进行了广泛交流探讨，并且取得了共识，我认为这次会议是富有成果的，而且这一成果无论是对中国还是对全球，都具有里程碑的意义。
