I read the Count of Monte Christo years ago, which impreed me deeply.Edmond Dantes was an energetic young sailor, he had a loving father, a pretty lover and bright future.He was optimistic and he treated everyone around him politely.One day, he sailed back and was going to marry with his loved girl named Mercedes.He was very promising because he would become a captain if everything went well.However, one of his workmates named Danglars was jealous of his acheievements.So Danglars framed Dantes with Fernand, a man who also loved Mercedes.Danglars and Fernand wrote a letter to government, telling that Dantes was a crazy supporter of Napoleon.During Dantes and Mercedes’ nuptial feast, Dantes was arrested by magistrate.As it happeded, Dantes’ case was related with the deputy’s father.In order to protect his own father, the deputy, Villefort, put innocent Dantes into prison.At first, Dantes was full of hope because he believed that he was innocent, he even thought that Villefort would set him free sooner or later.But as time went on, he became hopele eventually.At that time he met the treasure’s owner, Faria abbe who wanted to escape from prison.Faria abbe made a mistake when digging a tunnel to escape so he went to Dantes’ cell by chance.Faria abbe taught Dantes many things, enabling him to behave as a noble, and helped him to be aware of who had framed him.Faria abbe even told Dantes where his treasure was because Dantes looked after him quite well.After Faria’s death, Dantes regained his freedom and managed to find Faria’s treasure.After that, Dantes changed his name to the Count of Monte Christo.When he knew his bo Morrel had ever tried to help him and his father, he gave a hand to Morrel, offering Morrel a new ship.After paying a debt of gratitude, the Count of Monte Christo began to take vengeance on his personal enemies.Morcerf had captured his wife, betraying his benefactor, but at last his wife left him and his son felt ashamed to have a father like him.He lost all of his reputation, so hechose to kill himself.Villefort paid all his attention to his politics life, he wanted to kill his own son, but his crime was discovered, his wife and son took poison to die, he went mad at last.Danglars forced Dantes’ father to die of hunger, he seized every chance to gain

advantage by trickery.At last he was tricked by the Count of Monte Christo and went bankrupt.“I love ones who love me;I hate ones who hate me”.In this story, the kindhearted people had happy endings, while the evils had to pay for the wrong they did.What's more, the story is full of romantism.Dantes met Faris by chance, Faria was rich and wise, he succeeded to change Dantes from a sailor to a nobleman.With the treasure Dantes got from Faria, everyone around him became his tool of vengeance, it shows that the relationship in capitalism society is indeed the relationship of money.There are many philosophical sentences in the story, for example,“There is neither happine nor misery in the world, there is only the comparison of one state with another, nothing more.” “He who has felt the deepest grief is best able to experience supreme happine.” “Until the day when God will deign to reveal the future to man, all human wisdom is contained in these two words—wait and hope.” From these sentences, we can learn that we should never be peimistic with our life, instead, as long as we work hard, sooner or later we will pay off.the Count of Monte Christo, written by Alexandre Dumas, published by Aviation Industry Pre for the first time in the year of 2008.
