Good morning!Ladies and gentlemen: Today we will go and visit the Yueyang Tower, there’s an famous words :“Dongting is the water of the world, Yueyang is the tower of the world.” Yueyang Tower lies in the west of Yueyang city, nearby the Dongting Lake, it is listed as three famous towers in the south of Yangtze River, together with Yellow Crane [kren] Tower at Wuhan, Hubei province and Tengwang Tower at Nanchang, Jiangxi province.Yueyang Tower was originally [ə'rɪdʒənəli] built for soldiers ['soldʒɚz] to rest on and watch out.In the Three kingdoms Period ['pɪrɪəd], Lusu, General of Wu State, trained his soldiers here and then rebuilt it as a tower to review his troops.The yueyang tower was originally constructed in 214 AD(the tang dynasty ['daɪnəsti]).Because of human factors and natural disasters, during the song,yuan ,ming and qing dynasty ,it was repaired and rebuilt for 48 times , the current structure was rebuilt in the qing dynasty and was renovated ['rɛnə,vet] in 1893.There are five models of tower made by bronze [brɑnz] in attractions.In the history，the poet ['pəʊɪt] such as du fu, han yu, liu yuxi, bai juyi, li shangyin came to there , and leaving many well-known poems ['poɪm], made the yueyang tower is known around the world.In the forth year(1045 A.C)of Qingli of Song Dynasty, Teng Zijing was stationed at Baling Jun, the ancient ['eɪnʃ(ə)nt] name of Yueyang city.In the second year, he had the Yueyang Tower repaired [rɪ'pɛr] and had poems by previous poets inscribed on the walls of the Tower.Fan Zhongyan, a great artist and poet, was invited to write the well-known poem about Yueyang Tower, in his eay which entitled《A Panegyric [,pænɪ'dʒɪrɪk] of the Yueyang Tower》, the two sentences writes :“ Be the first to worry about the troubles acro the land, the last to enjoy universal happine”have for thousands of years been a well-quoted dictum['dɪktəm] and made the tower even better known than before.Here is the carve [kɑːv] screen which was carved by the great calligrapher [kə'lɪgrəfɚ] named zhangzhao.Which I want to tell you is that there are two screen in the tower , the first floor is a imitation [ɪmɪ'teɪʃ(ə)n], but the second floor is an authentic [ɔː'θentɪk] work.The architectural style of Yueyang Tower is quite unique.The main tower is 21.35 meters high with 4 columns ['kɔləm], 3 stories.The features of tower can be summarized in the following words: flying eave, bracket ['brækɪt], helmet ['helmɪt] roof and wood construction.It’s worth mentioning that the tower was completely built by wood, and do not have one iron nails.It’s amazing.Here are some beautifu picture of the park for everyone to enjoy.That’s all.Thanks!
