Why Hamlet has to die?
At the first time when I read Hamlet,I felt so confused why it was not a happy ending.Then I was informed that it was a tragedy so Hamlet had to die in the end as a hero.But I cannot stop asking:he had been in such a miserable life,which had great enough definited the tragedy.Hence,there must be any other reasons.Till now when I heard “to be or not to be “,my head embances the same question.Recently I got some inspiration from a speech.The following is what my discovery.It was in the 1601 or 1602 that Shakespeare wrote his mastepiece Hamlet.At this period,Shakespeare was in a sorrow and sadne mood resulting from his personal and especially political affairs.He saw the poorne of human life and the darkne of the society,so he transferred his sympathy for poor people and the outrageous toward the society into word.“oh god!god!how weary,stale,flat and unprofitable,seem to me all the uses of this world!fie ou‟t!ah fie！„tis all unweeded garden,that grows to seed;things rank and gro in nature poes it merely!” The scenery is exactly the authentic reality of shakespeare‟s life.It‟s the author‟s experience that determined Hamlet‟s miserable life.in the tragedy, King Claudius moudering his brother leading to corruption of politics and human soul,the inceatuous marriage deteriorating the pure love and ethnics.What‟s more,Hamlet was regarded as an alien because he had influenced the new intelligent.In such circumstance,eyeryone around him expect Ophelia and his father‟s ghost could makehim count on.we can see how lonely and solitude he was!That‟s just like the new cla-bourgeoisie.It‟s a historical period of the transition from feudalism to capitalism.the conflicts between the old feudai nobility and the bourgeoisie became more obvious and intensive.However ,the power of bourgeoisie was as weak as Hemlet.He got all hie courage to revenage but always exposed his tragic flaw –hesitation.Although he had several chances to kill the king ,he lost them.but that exactly proved his rational and intelligible brain.He was clear that the simple rude action could not actually kill him.One fail,there were many such people still alive.It was hard to arouse people‟s consciouse and release them from darkne and poverty.After the death of Ophelia and her father,Hamlet saw the flames
of fury in Laerte‟s eyes.Although he felt guity and even committde suicide.The importent thing was he found death was a way surging out people‟s courage and motive.He realized the only death of himself could make hie dreams come true.Therefore in the duel ,he was died at last to achieve his twin purposes.That‟s the amibition what Shakespeare wanted to aim.Although Hamlet died , the tragic hero realized his revrnage ,while at the meantime he inspired the living people to fight against the old forces and to persue liberty,happine in life.Wherther in england or other lands,in ancient time or today,especially at the early time of revolution,there are a large number of Hemlets.At the time of a new force replacing the old, self-sacrifice is evitable and neceary.They contribute to wake up people‟s mind with their own blood.And they are the contents I heard from that speech..That‟s the Hamlet‟s death reasons in my mind.He died for political reasons.Everyone has his own Hamlet.But when I read it every time,I have a deep thought on it:death can be good ,death can be bad,but the death of Hamlet is special and significant.沈倪琴08英语2班08157052
