It is not surprising, then, that the world saw a return to a floating exchange rate system.Central banks were no longer required to support their own currencies.Floating policy is of great importance for export trade;it is, in fact, a convenient method of insuring goods where a number of similar export transactions are intended, e.g.where the insured has to supply an overseas importer under an exclusive sales agreement or maintains sales representatives or subsidiary companies abroad.
We'd like to inform you that our counter sample will be sent to you by DHL by the end of this week and please confirm it ASAP so that we can start our ma production.Payment will be made by 100% confirmed, irrevocable Letter of Credit available by sight draft。
Part time barman required.Hours and salary negotiable. This Bill of Lading is iued in a negotiable form, so it shall constitute title to the goods and the holder, by endorsement of this B/L.
You may get a 5% discount if your order is on a regular basis. If a seller extends credit to a time draft, they have made a trade acceptance. The seller can request that the bank finance the transaction by buying the draft. The bank is said to discount the draft.
Our products have been endorsed by the National Quality Inspection Aociation.Draft must be accompanied by full set original on board marine Bill off Lading made out to order, endorsed in blank, marked freight prepaid.
If a particular cargo Is partially damaged, the damage is called particular average. It's obvious that the products are below the average quality.
Under CIF, it is the seller's obligation to tender the relative documents to the buyer to enable him to obtain delivery of the goods. If they arrive, or to recover for the lo, if they are lost on the voyage. He became as exhilarated as if his tender for building a mansion had been accepted.
Dear Sirs,With reference to your letter of April 9, we are pleased to accept your offer of 100 tons of Copper Wire as per your Offer Sheet No.8/070/02B.Please go ahead and apply for your Export Licence. As soon as we are informed of the number of the Export Licence we will open the L/C by cable.
I can't mi the ten o'clock train.I'm going to Beijing on busine.I'm sure it's with the bo again this time.Nothing is more streful than going on a busine trip with our bo.They scheduled the negotiation at nine tomorrow morning. There're still several things that haven't been decided yet before the trip.Don't you think it a good thing for you to get out of the office for a couple of days?
The train isn't crowded at all recently.Last time I went on a busine trip with the bo I didn't even have enough to eat.he first thing you'll do is look for a comfortable hotel. You don't know how tight the schedule is for this busine trip.Quite often we have to play host to them though it's their home ground.Nothing's been decided yet.Why going there in such a hurry?
The company is sometimes very cheap on the travel expenses.I like to take an accasional busine trip for a change. On this trip I have to visit several important customers. We always discu busine matters. It's boring.Every time I'm back, I have to write a detailed report of the busine trip.Sometimes you arrive there around two or three o'clock in the morning.Busine trip is tiring to me.She always gets some presents for other people in the office when she's back from a busine trip.
NOTICE
All profeors and aociate profeors are requested to meet in the college conference room on Saturday, August 18, at 2:00 p.m.to discu questions of international academic exchanges.May.14, 2000

Educational Testing Service
B: Mr.Sun, I'd like you to meet Mr.Johnathan Mitchell, sales manager for Nortern Reflections of Canada.(Sun extends hand first;Sun and Mitchell shake hands)Mr.Mitchell, Mr.Steven Sun, general manager of Apex Trading.
S: It's very nice to finally meet you, Mr.Mitchell-after so many phonecalls and faxes.(offers his busine card first)I'd like you to have my busine card.
J: Thanks very much, Mr.Sun.Please accept mine.(offers his own card)And please, call me Johnathan.(both look at cards for a few seconds, then put them in wallets-not pockets)
B: If you don't mind, Johnathan, while you and Mr.Sun get acquainted, I'd like to check the arrangements for the meeting.
J: You're certainly on top of things, Brian.Brian,
S:(looking at Brian)You'll find Mr.Tayler-Brian91 Street
1.Very Formal
Respectfully yours,Yours respectfully,2.Formal
Very truly yours,Yours very truly,Yours truly,3.Le Formal
Sincerely yours,Yours sincerely,Sincerely,Cordially yours,Yours cordially,Cordially,4.Informal
Regards,Warm regards,With kindest regards,With my best regards,My best,Give my best to Mary,Fondly,Thanks,See you next week!
有时在we, I, and you之间选择是很烦的事--
We will reimburse you for these legal expenses.Sinopec will reimburse you for these legal expenses.
I found the brochure very informative.
We are pleased to offer you the position of sales director, and I am looking forward to our Tuesday morning meeting.那么I和you呢? You will be pleased to learn that you have been selected to serve on our advisory board.Your prompt response will be appreciated.(好像欠你一样)
I'm pleased that our board has selected you as the best qualified candidate to serve on our advisory board.I hope you'll agree to serve.(这就友善多了)
Your book was well written and comprehensive.(不用你来判断我呀~~)
I thoroughly enjoyed your book and found an answer to every one of my questions about performance appraisals.(客气一点,人家受落)
Dear Comittee Member:
Dear Meeting Planner:
Dear Colleagues:
To All Sales Reps:
To Whom It May Concern:
Dear Sir or Madam:
Dear Madam or Sir:
Dear Purchasing Agent:
Gentlemen or Ladies:
Ladies or Gentlemen:
Dear Sirs:
Dear Ladies:
Dear Mesdames:
Gentlemen:
Ladies:
Dear Mr.Jones:(非常正规)
Dear Joan:
Dear Jim,Jim,(非正规)
D: I'd like to get the ball rolling(开始)by talking about prices.R: Shoot.(洗耳恭听)I'd be happy to answer any questions you may have.D: Your products are very good. But I'm a little worried about the prices you're asking.R: You think we about be asking for more?(laughs)
D:(chuckles莞尔)That's not exactly what I had in mind.I know your research costs are high, but what I'd like is a 25% discount.R: That seems to be a little high, Mr.Smith.I don't know how we can make a profit with those numbers.D: Please, Robert, call me Dan.(pause)Well, if we promise future busine――volume sales(大笔交易)――that will slash your costs(大量减低成本)for making the Exec-U-ciser, right?
R: Yes, but it's hard to see how you can place such large orders. How could you turn over(销磬)so many?(pause)We'd need a guarantee of future busine, not just a promise.D: We said we wanted 1000 pieces over a six-month period. What if we place orders for twelve months, with a guarantee?
R: If you can guarantee that on paper, I think we can discu this further.
R: Even with volume sales, our coats for the Exec-U-Ciser won't go down much.D: Just what are you proposing?
R: We could take a cut(降低)on the price. But 25% would slash our profit margin(毛利率).We suggest a compromise――10%.D: That's a big change from 25!10 is beyond my negotiating limit.(pause)Any other ideas?
R: I don't think I can change it right now.Why don't we talk again tomorrow?
D: Sure.I must talk to my office anyway.I hope we can find some common ground(共同信念)on this.NEXT DAY
D: Robert, I've been instructed to reject the numbers you proposed;but we can try to come up with some thing else.R: I hope so, Dan.My instructions are to negotiate hard on this deal――but I'm try very hard to reach some middle ground(互相妥协).D: I understand. We propose a structured deal(阶段式和约.For the first six months, we get a discount of 20%, and the next six months we get 15%.R: Dan, I can't bring those numbers back to my office――they'll turn it down flat(打回票).D: Then you'll have to think of something better, Robert.
R: How about 15% the first six months, and the second six months at 12%, with a guarantee of 3000 units?
D: That's a lot to sell, with very low profit margins.R: It's about the best we can do, Dan.(pause)We need to hammer something out(敲定)today. If I go back empty-handed, I may be coming back to you soon to ask for a job.(smiles)
D:(smiles)O.K., 17% the first six months, 14% for the second?!
R: Good.Let's iron out(解决)the remaining details.When do you want to take delivery(取货)?
D: We'd like you to execute the first order by the 31st.R: Let me run through this again: the first shipment for 1500 units, to be delivered in 27 days, by the 31st.D: Right. We couldn't handle much larger shipments.R: Fine. But I'd prefer the first shipment to be 1000 units, the next 2000.The 31st is quite soon----I can't guarantee 1500.D: I can agree to that.Well, if there's nothing else, I think we've settled everything.R: Dan, this deal promises big returns(赚大钱)for both sides.Let's hope it's the beginning of a long and prosperous relationship.

常用的这类副词是由 here、there、where 等副词分别加上 after、by、in、of、on、to、under、upon、with 等副词,构成一体化形式的公文语副词。例如:
从此以后、今后:hereafter; 此后、以后:thereafter; 在其上:thereonthereupon; 在其下:thereunder; 对于这个:hereto; 对于那个:whereto;
在上文:hereinabovehereinbefore; 在下文:hereinafterhereinbelow;
This Contract shall come into force from the date of execution hereof by the Buyer and the Builder.
The undersigned hereby agrees that the new products whereto this trade name is more appropriate are made in China.
2.1.shipping advice 与 shipping instructions
另外要注意区分 vendor(卖主)与 vendee(买主),consignor(发货人)与 consignee(收货人)。
2.2.abide by 与 comply with
abide by 与 comply with 都有“遵守”的意思.
Both parties Shall abide by/All the activities of both parties shall comply with the contractual stipulations.2.3.change A to B 与 change A into B
英译“把 A 改为 B“用“change A to B”,英译“把 A 折合成/兑换成 B“用“change A into B”,两者不可混淆。
Both parties agree that change the time of shipment to August and change US dollar into Renminbi.2.4.ex 与 per
The last batch per/ex/by S.S.“Victoria” will arrive at London on October(S.S.= Steamship)
2.5.in 与 after
The good shall be shipped per M.V.“Dong Feng” on November 10 and are due to arrive at Rotterdam in 140 days.(M.V.= motor veel)
2.6.on/upon 与 after
时,用介词 on/upon,而不用 after,因为 after 表示“之后”的时间不明确。
The invoice value is to be paid on/upon arrival of the goods.2.7.by 与 before
The vendor shall deliver the goods to the vendee by June 15.(or: before June 16,说明含 6 月 15 日在内。如果不含 6 月 15 日,就译为 by June 14 或者 before June 15。)
The shipper shall be liable for all damage caused by such goods to the ship and/or cargo on board.3.1.2 by and between
This Contract is made by and between the Buyer and the Seller, whereby the Buyer agrees to buy and the Seller agrees to sell the under-mentioned commodity subject to the terms and conditions stipulated below.3.2.
Party A shall be unauthorized to accept any orders or to collect any account on and after September 20.
Our terms are cash within three months, i.e.on or before May 1.3.2.2 not(no)later than
用“not(no)later than +日期”英译“不迟于某月某日”。
Party B shall ship the goods within one month of the date of signing this Contract, i.e.not later than December 15.3.2.3 include
This credit expires till January 1(inclusive)for negotiation in Beijing.(or: This credit expires till and including January 1 for negotiation in Beijing.)如果不包括 1 月 1 日在内,英译为 till and not including January 1。
Party A shall pay Party B a monthly salary of US $ 500(SAY FIVE HUNDRED US DOLLARS ONLY).3.3.2.
