Beijing traffic chiefs have vowed to crack down on jaywalkers.From this week, people who donot wait for the “green man” signal to cro at intersections will receive on-the-spot fines of 10 yuan.北京市交管部门负责人表示要严厉打击乱穿马路的行人。从本周起，过马路时不等绿灯信号就穿行的行人将被现场罚款10元。
Jaywalker指“乱穿马路的行人”，不遵守交通规则乱穿马路就是jaywalking，最近热议的“中国式过马路”就可以用这个词来表示，不过也有很多媒体译为to cro the road in Chinese style或Chinese style road croing。
行人闯红灯（running red light）不但扰乱交通秩序（traffic order），而且是导致道路交通事故（traffic accidents）的原因之一。北京市交管部门表示，在处罚的同时还将积极改善行人过马路的条件，对道路安全设施进行升级改造（upgrade road safety facilities），比如修建过街天桥（building overpa），更合理地安排交通信号灯（arranging traffic lights more scientifically）等。
