PERSONAL STATEMENT
In connection with my application for acceptance into your graduate program of XXXXX I am enclosing the following statement concerning my study, extracurricular activities, and tentative future plans.My keen interest in Economy and Busine could be traced back to my early childhood.I would naturally credit my succe to my dear mother who made a point of cultivating my good character as early as I was at kindergarten.As Accountant herself, she used to tell me stories about great economist: their extraordinary experience, their selfle contributions to human beings, and their untiring endeavor to bring their goals into realization…All these have left an indelible impreion in my mind.So I follow current affairs programmes on the television and read newspapers and journals, such as the ‘Economist’, with interest.However, I want to do further research to explore the causes and effects of human interactions.The study of economics and businees provides explanations and predictions, as well as more universal theories, which underlie human behaviour, as well as offering insight into the validity of the various economical choices competing for our favour.Therefore I made up my mind to engage in busine and economy studies as a postgraduate whenever it was poible.However, owing to the limitation on unsatisfactory scores of entrance examination, I had to take Chemical Engineering & Technology as my major at university.I know that I am not good at Chemistry.The reason is simple.I have tried all my best to learn these subjects, but I just get a “PASS”, because I 'm not interested in chemistry.In the meantime, my dream for International Economics has never died all these years.I was stimulated by the desire to accept all challenges and conquer all the obstacles on my way to succe.In the following years, I got up early-usually one hour earlier than my roommates, and spend the precious morning hour reading and listening to the English broadcast.The subjects I learned provide me a good grounding in skills and knowledge for these two interrelated disciplines.English Language ensures that I can analyse, and communicate clearly and effectively, in both the spoken and written mode.Physics develops experimental and – along with Mathematics – analytical and problem solving skills, as well as ensuring my abilities have breadth.I am enthusiastic at the prospect of having my abilities stretched and raised to a much higher standard, especially as I have not studied economics or politics before.During my undergraduate days I paed the xxx in China on my own.My internship in xxx strengthened my understanding of economic applications in reality.A sincere girl of a sanguine disposition who is full of team spirit, I am always ready to help others.I held the position of conductor of the University’s Youth volunteer Aociation, I helped set-up a volunteer counselling group for local elementary school children, advising them on their study and personal problems.I am also a gifted organizer of social activities-I was selected as student cadre both in high school and university.As the minister of the Start Your Own Busine Aociation, I personally organized numerous activities to encourage school spirit and enliven student life on campus.In addition, my rich extracurricular activities can also be strong proof.As a volunteer of the 2nd Summer Youth Olympic Games, I helped many foreign athletes and guests and received high praise for my fluent English.I am also keen on sports and take an active part in various kinds of sports and games.For this reasons I was awarded the Individual Scholarship for Cultural & Sports Activities three years running since I entered the university.In fact, I learned form your brochure that your school has a strong faculty and a very good academic environment.This major provides training in core areas of politics and economy and introduce student to contemporary theoretical approaches to studying global development.The thing I am most enjoy about xxx is the way it exposes you to two different countries, it is you who are responsible for finding a way to respect and integrate yourself into their unique cultures.I’ll be glad to be engaged into some busine and international economy programs for postgraduates, such as xxxx.If my request is granted, I would endeavor to make the best use of this golden opportunity, trying my best to make greater progre academically.I am convinced that your substantial and profound curricula for postgraduate will surely help me to have a command of economic knowledge and application.Thank you.
