芒格说:―在这投资领域中,若没做过扎实的阅读工夫,我不认为你可以成为真正优秀的投资人,而我也不认为有哪一本书可以为你做到这些。‖ 在阅读中,建立自己的―思维模式格栅‖,这需要大量阅读数学、生物学、物理学、社会学、心理学、哲学和文学等各学科及相关学科中著名科学家的重要著述,了解并熟悉书中介绍的核心概念,将不同学科的思考模式联系起来并融会贯通。同时,将这些理论应用到投资上去,进行正确思考和独立思考,进而聪明地投资,从而取得最佳投资回报。

芒格说:―我想自己不是受到良好教育的典范,我是自己学会通过阅读而获取自己想要的信息的。我一生中常常如此。我经常是更喜欢已经作古的杰出导师而不喜欢仍在人世的老师。‖

如果你想得到智慧,你需要安静地坐下来读书,这就是智慧的来源。

在每年的Berkshire Hathaway、Wesco股东大会和演讲中,芒格都会推荐一些书籍,现将有关书籍、出处及评论整理如下:

一、传记类

芒格十分喜欢读传记。芒格说:―我认为,如果你想把一些伟大的有用的思想教给人们的话,传记是一种更易于使人们将思想创立者的生活与人格联系在一起的方式。如果你同亚当•斯密交朋友,你会把经济学学得更好。―同那些已经过世的伟人交朋友‖这听起来很荒唐。但是如果你一生中总是与那些有远见卓识的故人交友的话,那么你将生活得更好,更有教养。这比仅仅讲一些大道理强多了。‖

Views on Ben Graham's Ideas :The idea of a margin of safety, a Graham precept, will never be obsolete.The idea of making the market your servant will never be obsolete.The idea of being objective and dispaionate will never be obsolete.So Graham had a lot of wonderful ideas.I liked Graham, and he always interested and amused me.But I never had the worship for buying the stocks he did.So I don't have the worship for that Warren does.I picked up the ideas, but discarded the practices that didn't suit me.I don't want to own bad businees run by people I don't like and say, ”no matter how horrible this is to watch, it [the stock] will bounce by 25%.“ I'm not temperamentally attracted to it.41、《怎样选择成长股》,Common Stocks and Uncommon Profits ,Conservative Investors Sleep Well,Developing an Investment Philosophy Phil Fisher(费舍尔)
