Before we explore the qualities for succe, let's define “succe.” Succe is a matter of perspective.If the goal is president of the company, but the employee retires as a vice-president of the company, is he/she a succe, or a failure? The answer is in perspective.If the goal is seen as a direction, vice-president is a succe.If the goal is seen as a specific position, it was a failure;two perspectives of the same performance.The qualities of the individual may determine their definition of succe.If the person is motivated to acquire as much money as is poible, “poible” becomes the operative word, as one may never have enough to feel succeful, and another may accept what they earn as what was poible'.Money is a poor measure of succe, after basic needs are met.Once again, though, two people may have different concepts of basic needs.One may think that private schools and a swimming pool in the back yard are basic needs,' while another may think that food, clothing, and modest shelter are basic needs.For this article, let's aume, “succe is when basic needs and satisfaction of life's endeavors is achieved.” That is asking enough, and few ever achieve those.Now, what qualities are required to achieve succe?
LOVE: Loving one's self and others is important.We all feel a need to be loved, but feeling loved begins with self-love, which spreads to others.VOCATION: For our subsistence, and for those whom depend on us, we need income.Much of our life's effort will be expended toward that endeavor.True succe may come from a chosen vocation.Getting as much or more from our labors as we give our livelihood will contribute more to a sense of satisfaction than showing up, putting in our time, and looking forward to going home.ENVIRONMENT: Our personal environment is not where we live, but how we adapt to where we live, or where we choose to live.Environmental quality of life may be, for some, where there are no toxic fumes, and everyone has large homes and drive nice cars.For others, quality may be where they know their neighbors, feel safe and secure;and for others, it may be where they can barely meet the rent payments but have a home filled with love.How we accept and adapt to our environment will determine our feeling of succe.FAMILY: Devotion to family is important to many, if it is to parents, parenting, or sibling support;family is important.Don't have a real' family? Make one, develop friendships of support and sharing with those who will become “family,” with time, but have a support of “family.” It's more about the giving than the taking.FAITH: Faith may be based in religion, spirituality, or conviction to principles, but without some faith that it all does work out, eventually, and that even when we don't understand all that occurs, there is a certain order and that life is not all bad,' requires some faith.DEVOTION: Devotion to goodne, excellence, and commitment to succe is eential to achieve succe;commitment to family, work, relationships, and courage are just a few eential elements, which require devotion in order to succeed.MORALITY: Morality is malleable, and succe requires that it fit into a basic sense of morality or the succe is unfulfilled.Morality is so obscure, it requires reflection of one's basic principals, commitment to honesty or integrity to truly succeed in a positive manner.Some may disagree that morality is malleable or obscure, but that is due to lack of reflection, I think.They're entitled to their opinion and me to mine.Opposite forces pull in extreme direction in life, and decisions must be made, choices which affect others must be accepted and morality is where we make many of those decisions.We say it is wrong to kill, but we fight wars, and in that, we must find and
cling to a morality that is correct for others and ourselves.It is difficult but achievable.SELF WORTH: Self-esteem, a feeling of value in us and in our lives is critical.Often, our sense of value is measured by other's perceptions.If others perceive you as succeful, you may accept their perception, but it may not be accurate, as it would not necearily be accurate if they perceived you as not succeful or having value.One's self-image and sense of self worth is critical to one's concept of their personal succe.Whatever your goals, and whatever succees you choose, I wish you luck, good fortune, and this advice shared here.I still struggle on some of these iues, but feel I have a good and succeful, fulfilling life and would wish that for everyone.Succe is relative, life is difficult, and love is enduring.Learning to enjoy life's challenges' is where we win or lose.
