Nowadays, with the development of the international trade, some of the previous theories about the international trade are now facing some challenges, The H-O theory is the one of them.The H-O theory strees that countries should produce and export goods that require resources that are abundant and import goods that require resources in short supply, Now the theory is not proper to the development of the trade between countries, especially for China.China has experience a long period of developing the labor-intensive industry, There are various advantages for China to develop the labor-intensive industry.First, the salary of the labor is lower than other areas and countries.Second, the government has published some favorable policies for the industry, What’s more, the infrastructure is favorable for the export of the labor-intensive products.But with the shift of the model of the economy development, China should adjust the industrial structure, and The shortage of the H-O theory is more obvious.The H-O theory excludes the trade of capital goods, but in the modern economy, capital goods are traded internationally.So, the labor-intensive industry in China is facing many problems.1、The cost of the labor is increased which leads to the increase of the products cost.2、The slow recovery of the international economy makes the prospect of the industry become uncertain.3、These companies can’t gain much profit from the products.4、The development of the labor-intensive industry is not favorable to the innovation of China.Facing the challenges and problems, the structure of economy in China should be shifted, and the labor-intensive industry should change their developing style.Here are some suggestions giving by me.1、From the view of the government, The officials should strengthen the construction of the infrastructure, such as the transportation and the working environment.2、The company themselves should combine the high technology with the primary products, so that more profits will be gained.3、The whole companies should establish a system in case of the trade barrier from foreign country, every company should enhance the ability of preventing the trade barrier.The H-O theory is weak facing the current economy, and with the shift of the economy structure, we should make efforts to adjust our model of the economy, The labor-intensive industry in China has a long way to go during the proce of the globalization.
