【Abstract】(BEIJING, June 1st, 2007)--The head of the State Environmental Protection Administration(SEPA)of China today unveiled the country's theme for this year's World Environment Day--Le Emiion of Pollutants and the Environment-Friendly Society [1].And the 2010 World Expo was held in Shanghai.Shanghai Expo theme is “Better City, Better Life.”

Environment-Friendly Society encourages people to minimize energy use and greenhouse gas emiions, especially the emiion of carbon dioxide which scientists say is a major cause of global warming.In other words, we are encouraged to leave le carbon footprint in our daily life.When you drive a car, the engine burns fuel which creates a certain amount of carbon dioxide.Even if you heat your house with electricity, the generation of the electrical power may also have emitted a certain amount of carbon dioxide.All those activities can put strains on the environment and lead to a worsening climate change.That’s why sparkplugs develop an Environmentally Friendly Lifestyle.Everybody has to share the responsibility to tackle climate change.This is especially important for the modern college students, some changes in their life can
make a big difference to the environment.Currently, my school is launching an activity whose theme is that actions change the world to advocate the low carbon living.In the activity, we are required to prohibit the use of packaging when having a meal.This movement has greatly changed the way of our college students’ lifestyle and makes us gradually towards the Environmentally Friendly Lifestyle.That directly results in our campus becoming more and more clean, especially obvious in the dormitories.At the same time it is healthy for students and protects our environment.Thereby developing an Environmentally Friendly Lifestyle has very important significance for college students to imitate.But what kind of life is only known as an Environmentally Friendly Lifestyle? Perhaps this question puzzled everyone!In fact, low-carbon life is very simple;it refers to the rhythms of life when there is a reduction of energy consumption.In turn that reduces the carbon consumption, in particular the reduction of carbon dioxide.We should actively promote “Environmentally Friendly Lifestyle” from the energy-saving, fuel-efficient, solar terms, from little things bit by bit.That is, low-carbon living is lower energy, more low consumption lifestyle, restoring the conduct of the simple exchange of people and nature.So we can start from the following steps:
First of all college students should keep Environmentally Friendly Lifestyles as a kind of fashion, and this idea has risen from abroad.But now this style of life has been quietly coming into China and becoming very popular to the young people.“To keep on energy conservation and environmental protection, in addition to feeling the social responsibility for those born in the 80s, 90s.It is becoming more a kind of fashion,” said by a college student.“I have changed my thought about fashion more than every before.It is no longer the famous brands.I think in the leisure time we should read more, do manual exercise, and participate in public activities.This kind of healthy environmental protection lifestyle is the real fashion.” So the Environmentally Friendly Lifestyle is not only a social popular catchword, but also related to human future strategic choices.In the second place, the Environmentally Friendly Lifestyle should be kept for habits and customs.According to the report, 44% of college students said that environmental protection is to protect biodiversity;it is also the human’s responsibility to keep harmonious and get along with animals and plants.They clearly understand that many animals and plants have been declining sharply because of human destruction and lack of balanced rules.The ecosystem doesn’t have balance now.Human beings need to do environmental protection in order to maintain its balance.But we often can see littering, spitting and trampling on the lawn, etc.taking
place in our daily life.These seemingly small daily behavior habits are some person’s corrupt customs and to be hated.So, will these things often occur in college students? An investigation of college students shows that 52% of them never do these stinking things, and 42% of them occasionally happen to do such behavior, but only 6% often will do it.This suggests that the modern college students have a very strong environmental protection consciousne, and put the awarene to action to protect the environment, they are the vanguards of the environmental protection.So they should to be the Environmentally Friendly Lifestyle Advocates and take it for a daily habit.In addition, to build an Environmentally Friendly Lifestyle, the keys are attitude and action.It is not only becoming the college students consciously operation, but also a huge project of society.We should let Environmentally Friendly Lifestyle go into college campuses and go into students.Thereby, college students can do like this example,1.Choose public transport instead of private cars.If you have to drive a car, car-pooling is recommended;
2.Switch your computers, air conditioners, and other electronic appliances to energy-saving mode;choose energy-efficient bubbles;turn them off when they’re not in use;
3.Drink tea residue, dry it, make a tea pillow comfortable, and help
to improve sleep;
4.Use reusable carrier bags, cups, chopsticks as more environmentally-friendly alternatives to disposable commodities.When Christmas comes, send e-greeting cards instead of traditional cards which are made of wood as we know.Besides, we should use both sides of every piece of paper and we should save water as well as electricity.I believe that college students doing like this can build a better Environmentally Friendly Lifestyle.From the above, to have an Environmentally Friendly Lifestyle, college students should take it for a fashion style to pursue, keep it for a kind of habit or custom to cultivate and make it for an attitude to act.Then they will move our planet forward to the eternal development, becoming more and more beautiful at the same time.Bibliography:
