Oliver twist, one of the most famous works of Charles Dickens', is a novel reflecting the fact of the tragic life in Britain in the 19th century.What the auther trys to state is that goodne can conquer all the hardships and dangers.Therefore, he modled Oliver twist, an orphan who was thrown into a world filled with poverty and crime.He suffered from starvation and ill-treatment and no one loved him.Dickens also created Nancy, a poor, deplorable and lamentable girl.She lived in a cruel world, however, she struggled to be faithful to her lover.In addition to kind-hearted and gallant, the hero was very adamant and emulative as well as knew how toexpre gratitude.He experienced many sufferings since the day he came to this world with no mother’s love or family’s warmth but others’ maltreatment and scorn.But he didn’t bow down to the destiny, and he came to London struggling for a better life.Then, he was sent to many places as a present suffering all kinds of afflictions till his meeting Brownlow, a kind-hearted old man who sheltered Oliver and shared a wonderful life with him.After reading this book, I had learned a lot from it.Just like in all other best stories, goodne defeated evilne in the end.For me, the nature of goodne is one of the most neceary character for a person.Goodne is to humans what water is to fish.He who is without goodne is an utterly worthle person.On the contrary, as the famous saying goes, ‘The fragrance always stays in the hand that gives the rose', he who is with goodne undoubtedly is a happy and useful person.People receiving his help are grateful to him and he also gets gratified from what he has done, and thus he can do good to both the people he has helped and himself.When thinking about the circumstances described in the book, on the other hand, I didn’t calm down in a long time.The background of the book occupied the deep of my heart and took me to another world.And I was very exclamatory at the grief and pain people suffered from, the money interest relationship between people, the using of each other and the nature of indifference and selfishne people shown to you and me in the dark realistic society.Under the condition of losing his family, the poor Oliver undergone so much that I really didn’t know what kind of will could make him keep moving。
The most unforgettable plot was the period when Oliver encountered a robber group.He met Jack, a thief, after a walking on the way lasted seven days which made him very hungry and tired.Jack took him to his den and his aociates wanted to train him as a thief.Though he tasted all kinds of torment they prepared for him, he was unwilling to be a thief and at last escaped from the den.When reading this, a invisible admiration arised spontaneously.He was only ten years old, much younger than me, but his adamancy, bravery and justice were beyond comparison.He would rather bear pain and live a wandering life than become a thief.It was his yearning for a colorful
life and bright future that supported him to go futher and futher.Comparing with Oliver, I did think that we were so lucky that we had such a happy life.But sometimes, instead of satisfying with material life, we complained of the reality.When meeting a little diffcult, we given up our aim because of lacking of stong will.And at present, there was a lot of pitiful kids suffering from great pain such as starvation, lonene, cold and warfare.They needed a peaceful and happy life, and should we turn a blind eye to it? We should cherish the precious study condition we had and study hard to make us useful talents to the society.Only did this can we poeed the ability to help those children and offer them a sunshine-like-life as same as ours.
