Good afternoon, ladies and gentleman.Today, I’m glad to stand here and give you a speech, and my topic is cultural diversity VS.cultural integration.As soon as I heard of the topic, various ideas came to my mind.Old people and rigorous scholars nowadays are worrying about the disappearance of traditional Chinese culture caused by the invade of western culture.Walking through the city we live in, we can’t be surprised to see maes of European buildings, western restaurants, foreign supermarkets all along the streets.Today, it is common for us younger generation to eat in the KFC, drink in the Starbucks, play in the Disneyland, and have fun watching Hollywood films.The real existent phenomenon shows those people’s worries are not ill-founded.It’s worth our attention.So, what can we do to face the challenge of other cultural? How can we balance the scale between cultural diversity and cultural integration? My point of view is learning from other’s while developing ours at the same time.Just as an old saying puts it, “No body is perfect”, so does our culture.Closing the door to reference has been proved totally wrong by history of the past.Cultural integration becoming the main trend of the whole world.To learn from others, we should bear this in mind “Take its eence and discard its dro”.Only in this way , can we keep up with the
pace of the world and lead our culture to a more advanced and heath direction.Believe it or not, development is the principle of survive.To develop, we should not only learn from ours, but also inherit our own’s.Why? Think of this, if a culture has no unique feature, can it survive in the long history of human beings? Perhaps not, hence the cultural diversity also matters a lot.We are proud to see that Chinese Hot has influence so many parts of the world.More and more Confucius Institution, China town have been setting up all around the world.Chinese Kongfu, Chinese products are more and more popular with foreigners.By all these ways, Chinese culture has delivered and expand a lot.Chinese culture out stand among all the other cultures.Compared with those foreigners, we the younger generations are seemed notcherish our own culture enough.While crazily pursuit western value, western way of life, we get lost in the ocean of the culture and feel confused about who we are, where should I go.We lost ourselves because we lost our roots.Culture to us is root to a tree.All in all, the cultural diversity and integration are just like the twins, one comes with the other one.We can’t abandon either of them, contrary we should take good care of both.
