The prevalence of American TV operas is an inevitable consequence of cultural communication, which brings forth both benefits and abuses.In my opinion, such prevalence is of positive influence.In the past, culture communication was obstructed by the lack of means.Now Internet has boosted the communication significantly.We can learn about the divergent American culture from American TV operas.For example, from The Big Bang Theory we can see the American younger generation’s life style, working condition and western convention, as well as linguistic knowledge that cannot be fully acquired from books such as American slangs.We also broaden our horizons in learning how to aociate with Americans.It is a more active and convenient way of cultural exchange and acquisition compared to reading foreign books, referring to foreign teachers and going to foreign language claes.
