I read a novel yesterday which is the most touching story I have ever read.It tells a tragic life about an old peasant Fugui.After losing his closest people one by one, he became quiet and lived lonely with a bull who was as old as him leaning on each other for support.Fugui teaches me what is the true meaning of life by his own miserable experience.Fugui had a wrap fate.He watched his father, mother, sons, wife, daughter and little grandson paing away one after another helplely.The ruthle life had made him calm just like the windle surface of a lake.However, in his view, the sunlight still had no differences with that in forty years ago when he was once a childe.Some people always claimed that we mustn’t live only to survive, we ought to have some other distingue ambitions.In this novel ,however, I can hardly find any aim else of living expect for surviving.Fugui could never be a good landlord for he had lost all his poeions, and he could never become a clever man for he was swindled by a gambler.In fact, he was a black sheep when he was young.But after he had gone bankrupt, he finally realized that the greatest thing in his life was just to live peacefully together with the whole family.But the nobodies’ destinies are always based on the history.Ordinary people usually can’t decide how their life will go on.The only thing they can do is to adapt to the society.Fugui was a nobody in his period of time, he was so weak and even a little timid that he couldn’t protect the people he cared for.Although he tried his best, he wasn’t able to prevent all these misfortunes.His daughter turned into a deaf person because he could not afford the costs of treatment, his wife became a half disabled person because of overwork, his son died because being drawn too much blood.The fate hit Fugui bitterly again and again, the cruel reality beat hard on his head which
had never been risen up time after time.In this story, I couldn’t be eager Fugui to be rich again, my biggest hope is that the Fugui’s family could survive together.But even this tiny hope will never come true.Fugui, however, was still alive, even though he should die.In the end, I indeed understand, the reason why we live is to live.
