I Believe I Can Fly
Good afternoon, my honorable judges.My name is XXX.I'm a sophomore and I come from the Institute of Civil Engineering and Architecture.My major is Management Engineering.My hobby is listening to music, especially light music.Because I think that light music can make us more relaxed.So if you wanna to learn something about light music, you can talk to me.It is my great honor to be here and give you a short speech.Today my topic is “I Believe I Can Fly”.I hope you will like it.During my childhood, I was a shy boy definitely and even not brave enough to expre my feelings in public.One day, I happened to watch the CCTV “Star Of Outlook” English Talent Competition and was astounded by the wonderful performances of the contestants.How I wish to speak a fluent English like them!As the proverb goes: Practice makes perfect.When I was a senior high school student, I took part in an English Speech Contest.But I failed entirely own to the lack of confidence.I was really upset.Fortunately, my teacher's words lighted me up:“Never put yourself inferior to others.If you are confident enough to let your heart soar, you can fly in the sky and it is easier for you to reach the goals.”
Rome is not built in one day.As for me, confidence isn't built in one day either.The trick to building up one's confidence is his own effort.Without enough preparations and a tough work, I couldn't have been more confident.In other word, if you want to fly up high to reach your goals, it is neceary for you to work diligently and efficiently.And they both lay a solid foundation for building up one's confidence, let alone your future succe.Several years ago, when I listened to the song which called 《The Girl Waving Her Wings》, I could only enjoy the beautiful melody.But now, I can feel its real meaning.So just like its inspiring lyric:“Believe me I can fly, I'm proud to fly up high.” I will make up my minds, stick to it, and firmly believe that I can fly up high to accomplish my goals!
