As we’ve moved in this course, I really feel that it is very important to learn this subject well if one want to be a good English teacher in the future.In the first period of cla we’ve studied some approach in English language teaching.Then we studied the definition of language.From my point of view, language is a eential instrument that can be used to convey information.Language is a sort of bridge that can be used to establish relationship between people.As far as we know what language is, then we can have a better understanding of language teaching.Teaching is an attempt to help someone acquire knowledge, skills, and ideal and so on.In other words, the teacher’s tasks are to help students learn the subject well, to grasp the learning skills.However a good teacher should not only focus on these basic tasks but also help students to set up their own ideal and more important is to teach the students how to be a good man to the society.To be a good English teacher, above all, the teacher must have a comprehensive knowledge and skills.That is profeional competence.While this course provides us some basic theories related to language, language learning and language teaching.To learn this course well can help us develop practical skills and techniques in teaching the English.In addition, it also can help us develop our own ideas about English teaching and design our own teaching ways in the future.I used to major in Tourism English.Unlike others I don’t have any basic profeional knowledge, but I always dream to be a good English teacher in the future.There are a lot of things I need to do so as to realize my dream.First of all, the most fundamental thing for me is to have a good command of the English.I’ll try my effort to improve my oral English.i.e.to speak the English more fluently and clearly.For the sake of reaching this goal, I decide to spend two hour to communicate with others by using English.Furthermore I could imitate others speaking ways through watching the English TV programs.On the other hand, I must enlarge my knowledge especially the profeional knowledge through learning from the books and from others experiences by consulting and observations.Moreover, practice is a key to gain the knowledge.Based on this, I should prepare well for the pseudo—practice that will be carried out for the next year.Secondly, as is known to us, a good English teacher should have good personal qualities.That is to say the teacher should be patient, warm—hearted, creative, dynamic and so forth.I lack of patience.So I need to be more patient in doing things.When someday I do the teaching work, I should be patient with my students.For instance, I should listen to their idea and not pre them to make a quick answer when solving a difficult problem but help them to solve it.At last but not least, I should pay more attention to form good morals.Generally speaking, for me, there is a long way to go to be a good English teacher.But I always held the view that nothing is impoible.It’s just up to your effort.
