My View on Lifting the Ban on Marriage in University

Good morning，Ladies and gentlemen!Heated discuion about whether university students can get married or not has been going on for many years.In September 1st ,2011, the Ministry of Education officially implemented the New Regulations which delete the content that the university students who get married without dropping out of school would be punished.It means the ban on marriage in university is lifted formally.Some people believe that this is the action of respecting the human rights and the laws while others completely disagree.From my point of view, I disagree ,either.On the one hand, the main purpose of university is to impart knoeledge and this lift will bring a bad effect on the study environment, she or he will be distracted by the family affairs so that they can’t put their whole heart into the academic study.According to a survey conducted by the Center for Women's Law and Legal Services of Peking University, 33.3 percent of 951 undergraduates from 16 universities support the prohibition of marriage while 17.7 percent oppose it and others are non-committal.On the other hand, as for a student, getting married too early will bring them more tiredne and harms rather than freedom due to the unscientific realization of marriage.Although the university students are adults, they have immature attitudes toward life and emotion so that they are too easy to lose themselves in the amazement or the curiosity of marriage.However, the lack of responsibility to the marriage will soon result in an unsucceful marriage.This may do great harm to the students and let the normal relations of the two becomes embarraing.What’s worse, the carele marriage can result in the misunderstanding of marriage and emotion and even the negative effects on their future life when they come into the society.What can we do to avoid these kinds of phenomena? For one thing, the school should realize that the lift of the ban is a bigger challenge to their students’ management and education.Thus, they should take optimistic intervention on this problem from the aspects of cultivating talented students, protecting the students’ physical and psychological health and setting the right views on marriage.For another thing, parents can behave as their friends and help to tell students what is scientific marriage and how to treat marriage ,how to deal with the contradictions and how to improve mutual understanding.The most important thing is that the students can have reason on marriage and set up right attitude toward it.It is vital for them to handle the relations between study , marriage and future.Due to the harm of immature marriage and the paive effect on the future development of students, I firmly disagree with the lift of ban on marriage in university.I do hope us students can enjoy the studying time in university and the marriage life after graduation happily
