here we define two words.first one is “copy”.It means reproducing the original type or resources.So It is not innovated or created originally.Second one is “the western model of social development”.It mainly includes economy, politics, education, environment, and welfare system,Status-quo:
Over the past 30 years, China has formed a particular development model called China model which had withstood the time and history and proved to be suitable and practical in China.Up till now,China has now become the world's second-largest and fastest-growing economy.It is 10 times bigger than it was in 1978 and the nation has experienced the same degree of industrialization and social transformation as Europe did over two centuries.these are remarkable achievements—yet ruling China is no walk in the park.endemic corruption, environmental degradation, examination-oriented education, and an identity crisis with the decline of Maoism, rising cla differences and a quixotic nationalism are all part of everyday life.We have to admit that outside China do faces a challenge to undergo a new great transformation-from a world economic power to an internationally recognized and respected leader.And inside faces neceary reform.But we don’t think COPY western model of social development is the right way to face those challenges.Constructive speech:(The following are reasons to support our position.)
1:First,whether China copy western model of social development completely or in a selective way , it’s can’t be fully suitable and usable in China.,Copying western model does not adapt to China national condition and might bring further harmful consequences for china.western models are deeply rooted in the background and context of the west, while copying it means that we transplant it regardle of china’s inherent characteristics and condition, which is absolutely unreasonable and unacceptable.Take education system for a instance, we can’t deny that western education trains students in a more democratic and creative way, but the defects of it also can’t be denied.Many students lack of preure from parents and teachers to motivate themselves to work hard, so that they often get lazier and achieve average performance.besides, the knowledge level and calculating ability of western students is not as advanced as Chinese students.Furthermore, many people despise china’s gaokao because they think it kills students’ creativity and imagination, shaping them into a examination machine, while the current system is the most suitable one for china’s special condition.Considering the weak economic foundation and maive population, the education resources in china is very limited, causing
severe competition between students.So china choose the score-knocking out method, in a relative fair way, to select a small percentage to receive the high education, which leads to china’s education paying most attention to ranks, score, and competition, but ignoring the integrated ability of students.Every coin has two sides, what china should do is not copy western model but to find the most effective and suitable one.Secondly, many people challenge china’s monopoly power of CCP and shout for real modern democracy.While we also can’t ignore that multi-ruling party system will also bring wrangling and arguments within parties, which brings unneceary and low efficiency during decision-making proce.Besides, the most important is that western democracy does not suit china.Given that china is a multi-ethnic country, and holds large population and vast territory with diverse religions and cultures, a strong and powerful central government is a must for keeping domestic stability for economic development and people’s happy life.If we replace china’s current model of politics, then what kind of chaos and unrest it would bring for almost our 14billion people? Or can we afford the outcome of such turnover? 2:Second,As what had mentioned before, China model proved to be suitable and practical in China.Up till now,China has now become the world's second-largest and fastest-growing economy.It is 10 times bigger than it was in 1978 and the nation has experienced the same degree of industrialization and social transformation as Europe did over two centuries.One of the most convincing case ofdemonstrating China model’s great strength is in the most recent world financial crisis that began in the United Stated in 2008.The economy grew at 7.9% in 2009 and 10% in 2010 while the global economy grew by 1.6% on average.What’s more,according to Chinese government statistics, the poverty rate(defined as households earning $7,000 per year)dropped by 50.5% between 1981 and 2005.Such succe demonstrates that universal norms, including globalization, marketization and privatization, are the right direction for China to take.3:Third, the western model of social development own its inherent drawbacks which easily be ignored.On the one hand,what we saw the fabulous western model of social development actually is reliance on bloody capital primitive accumulation ,hightaxes ,moreover,it has caused deteriorating ecological environment and exhausting resources and energy.Those expensive costs finally make superficially fabulous western model.On the other hand,the western model has exposed many problems both in its system and concept, the most typical one is exceive demand on free-marking and little government intervention which caused periodic financial crises and debt crises.Noways China practice circular economy and sustainable development.Obviously,those high-costs and risky model of development do not suit China.Above all, we do not agree china should copy the western social development.Thank you.
