Vienna, a City in My Dream
This is a city which is known as the Music Capital of the World;this is a city along the Danube River, with music of Mozart and Strau;this is a city where you can feel that music is at your side every second.This is Vienna, a city in my dream.From the time the Romans selected a Celtic settlement on the Danube River as one of their most important central European forts, “Vindobona,” the city we now know as Vienna, has played a vital role in European history.Austria grew up around the city and developed into a mighty empire.The capital became a showplace during the tumultuous reign of the Habsburg dynasty, whose court was a dazzling spectacle.The face of the city has changed time and again because of war, siege, victory, defeat, the death of an empire and the birth of a republic, foreign occupation, and the paage of time.Fortunately, the Viennese character--a strict devotion to the good life--has remained solid.Music, art, literature, theater, architecture, education, food, and drink are all part of Vienna's allure.However, the reason why I consider Vienna as a city in my dream is because it is the Music Capital of the world.I began to learn singing, playing piano and dancing when I was only a little girl.From then on, music became an indispensable part of my life.When listening to music, I can get quiet when I am irritable;I can get
enthusiastic when I am lack of appreciation;I can get pleased when I am angry;I can get encouraged when I am disappointed.Therefore, I dreamed to go to the Music Centre of the world-------Vienna, to enjoy the most beautiful music in the world.Vienna enjoys a paramount reputation around the world.Sitting by the Danube River Vienna, for centuries, has offered the world many great music masters such as Joseph Haydn, Walfgong Mozart, Schulert, Buickner, Mahler and many more other music talents.Whenever their melodious music is played, the name of Vienna will occur to you.We simply can say music is the soul of Vienna.The Wiener Philharmoniker is one of the world’s great orchestras, and the Vienna Symphony and several other orchestras and groups are not far behind.The Vienna State Opera is one of the finest opera houses anywhere, and the city is home to two additional opera houses.The Vienna Boys’ Choir enchants music lovers around the world.In addition to claical music, Vienna has also made its mark as a city of musicals, and recent succees in electronic music show that the avant-garde is also taken seriously in Vienna.A very special way to enjoy music is presented at the House of Music-a unique high-tech adventure journey into the phenomenon of music – where sounds become visible, organ pipes may be walked on and visitors can be turned into virtual conductors or composers.These years, many Chinese orchestra and singers went to Vienna, the Golden Hall to hold their own concert.On Chinese New Year Day in 1998, the Austrian Vienna Golden Hall-one of Europe's historic music halls--welcomed the Chinese Central Folk Music Group for the first time.Since then, the “Chinese Folk Music Concert on Spring Festival” has become an annual event in Vienna.My favorite Chinese singer Zuying Song and Jing Tan held their own concerts in the Golden Hall in 2004 and 2006 in succeion.These concerts brought the Chinese traditional music to the people in the Music Capital, and made them world renowned.Since then, Vienna became more important in my heart.I dream to stay before the master’s statues and quietly hear melody spans over the time river, fleet the cloud, then lightly knock out the door of heart;I dream to sit on the white carriage like a girl in the tale, stalking through the decent city of music;I hope to have a date with angles of music heaven in the winter stuffed with happine from near spring.I hope that one day, my dream will be realized, and Vienna will not only in my dream, but also in my life.
