Visas and Residence Procedures

1,外国留学生来华时必须持学习（X）签证入境；持旅游签证或其他签证入境者报到后，须变更为学习签证方可办理居留许可。

Students must come to China by study visa(“X”).If a student has come with a tourist visa, he/ she must change it to a study visa.2,留学生新生应在入境后十天之内到重庆市检疫局作体检或体检复查认证，合格后方可办理居留许可。外事处将在新生入学后统一安排体检.New students must go to Chongqing Entry-Exit Inspection and Quarantine Bureau for physical exam or verification with in 10 days after entering China.Qualified students will receive a health certificate, which is need for residence permit.FAO will arrange physical exam or verification for new students.3,学生须在入境后三十日内办理外国人居留许可。居留许可的时限和在华学习时间一致。已有居留许可的学生在居留许可期限内出入境无需办理返签手续。

Students should apply residences permit with in 30 days after they arrive in China.The length of residences permit will be the same as the length he/she studies in CQUMS.Student doesn’t need to apply re-entry visa with the valid residence permit.3,学校外事处负责为留学生办理初次居留许可；初次申请居留许可需要提交的材料：1）本人护照 2）近期正面免冠2寸彩色照片8张。

Foreign Affairs Office(FAO)will responsible for the first time residence permit applying.Students must submit the following documents: 1)valid paport 2)8 pieces of 30mm X 40mm color photos.4,留学生在校学习期间如因护照遗失、换发或其他原因须申请居留许可延期者，由学生本人到重庆市出入境管理局办理相关手续，外事处提供学校证明。申请居留许可延期需要的材料：1）本人护照原件及复印件2）《外国人签证、居留许可申请表》一份，贴近期正面免冠2寸彩色照片3）《临时住宿登记表》一份（须到居住地派出所盖章），4)学校书面证明。

Students who need residence permit extension due to the paport lost or changed , they should go to Chongqing Municipal Public Security Bureau to applying it by themselves , FAO provide neceary documents.Students need to bring the following documents to PSB: 1)paport and copy.2)a 《visa and residence permit application form》with attach paport-size picture.3)A 《Registration of Temporary Residences Form》(should have the local Police Station seal).4)CQUMS letter provide by FAO.5,凡办理居留许可延期者，应在居留许可到期前至少一周办理延期手续；如遇学期结束或假期，学生应提前半个月办理。办理完毕应到外事处登记备案。

For residence permit extension, student should applying at least one week before it is expires.It should be half and month in advance if it is happen to be the end of the semester or school vacation.Student should bring the paport to FAO for registration after it extended.6,留学生如居住地点变动，须到当地派出所登记并将派出所盖章确认的《临时住宿登记表》交回外事处备案。Student should go to local Police Station to registrant if they change the living place.Bring back the sealed 《Registration of Temporary Residences Form》to FAO.7,从外地、外校转入我校学习的留学生，应在来校后十日内办理居留变更手续。校外事处负责为留学生办理。

Students who transfer to Chongqing Medical University should have residences permit changed with in 10 days after arrive in Chognqing.FAO will responsible for this.8，因故转学、退学或其他原因离校的学生，需凭学生处书面通知来外事处完善有关居留许可手续。未完善手续擅自离校的学生，一切后果自负。

Student who going to leave Chongqing Medical University due to transfer, discontinue schooling or other reasons must come to FAO to go through the resident permit formalities.Otherwise , students will take the full responsibility of illegal stay.9,留学生去香港、澳门和台湾地区或不对外国人开放地区探亲或旅游，须自行办理相关手续。Students should arrange the neceary documents by themselves if they go to Hong Kong, Macao and those places where not allow foreigners travel freely.10,学校原则上不邀请留学生家属来校伴读，如情况特殊，家属只能持旅游签证在华停留。

Basically Chongqing Medical University will not invite students’ spouse and children come to stay.if neceary, they only can come to China by tourist visa.11,若护照遗失或更新，学生应立即向外事处报告，并由学生本人向本国驻华使（领）馆申请新护照，持新护照在规定时间内去重庆市出入境管理局办理居留许可手续。

If paport lost or renewed, student should immediately report to FAO and apply a new paport from their embay by themselves.Students should apply a new residence permit once they get new paport.The applying procedure will be the same as item 4.12,留学生办理体检、体检认证、签证转换、居留许可、居留许可迁移、延期的费用一律自理。All the cost for physical exam, physical exam verification, visa type change, residence permit or resident permit transfer, resident permit extension will be born by students.13,留学生应妥善保管好本人护照并注意居留有效期，逾期产生的一切后果自负。

Students should take care of paport and be careful of the length of residence permit.If it is overdue, students should responsible for all the serious punishment.14,留学生完成学业后，必须在居留许可到期前离开中国。如因特殊原因需要延期，需提供学生办公室证明，凭此证明到外事处办理申请延期所需材料。

Students must leave China before their residence permit expires after they finish study in Chongqing Medical University.If for some reason this is not poible, student must apply residence permit extension to FAO by the approving of oversea student office.重庆医科大学外事处
