Dear editor,Now a program, whose purpose is to protect the rivers and their sources, is being carried out throughout Zhejiang Province.However, many people don’t behave according to the rules, which does great damage to the waters.Last week, I went back to my grandfather’s village.What upset me was that many people still throw rubbish, even dead pigs, into the river.They said the water would carry it down to the sea, so they didn’t have to bother to take special measures.In my opinion, the villagers did so because they didn’t realize the importance of protecting the waters.They didn’t know what they had done would eventually have a bad effect on themselves.Therefore, I suggest the government try ways to improve people’s awarene and meanwhile to punish anyone who breaks the rules.
