该庭院位于河南工业大学3号教学楼西出口，属于住宅的后庭，整个庭院呈长方形，较为规则，总面积约2400平方米。好庭院都是于周围环境以及人们的兴趣需求极度和谐的，这样的庭院绝非华而不实，而总是给人以实用舒适的感觉。
此区四季分明，属季风气候。冬季主导风向为西北风，夏季主导风向为东南风，年均气温，最低气温，月均最高气温，日均最高气温，年降雨量，降雨期一般集中于5-7月。场地大部分为平地，地势平坦，地貌类型单一，河南工业大学是一所蕴含百年历史文化的传统名校，自1956年郑州粮食学院发展至今，已形成自身殷实的校园文化底蕴，求实创新的校风，开放能动的开拓精神，科学理性于人文浪漫的情怀等校园品质，给校园注入丰富的人脉精神。
以绿化为主，适当点缀小品，做到三季有花，四季有景。体现环境特色，形成整体风格。打造人性空间，满足功能需求。庭院式一个非正式交流场所，具有良好的可进入性贿和有足够的活动面，是一个让人驻足，又可以随时借景而转移话题的自由、轻松的交流空间。
适地适树，在形成了良好的庭院景观的同时，应考虑方便今后是我养护管理，尽量和节约庭院的投入和今后的养护管理费用。
