一、背诵的内容 进行背诵活动就必须选择好背诵材料。首先背诵的材料必须是学生能够理解的材 料。其次学生是为了学习英语而背诵,就必须选择语言规范的材料。
1、重要的词汇和惯用语。主要是英语教材中需要掌握的单词、词组。

二、背诵的好处
1、背诵有利于词汇的情景记忆和理解。英语中有许多词汇,用 法多变,词义繁多,所以记忆词汇尤其是单词是令许多中学生感到头疼的事情。单 纯的硬记很难彻底掌握其用法,这时通过调动以往的背诵把单词放在具体的语言环 境中去记忆,把原本枯燥的单词或词组通过上下文的衔接变的有趣起来,如此一来 单词不仅容易记,而且记得牢,对词汇量的扩大大有裨益。例如: doctor examined The him carefully and found he had got a cancer.通过医生看病这一语境,学生就很容易地 记住了“examine”(检查,诊察)这个单词。
2、背诵有利于掌握习惯用语和固定句型。英语中的习惯用语和固定句型俯拾皆是,学生应做有心人,将它们铭记于心。通过 背诵掌握一定的习惯用语和固定句型,表达

三、背诵的形式
1、个人独立背诵:是课下背诵的主要方式,适合背诵各种形式的 英语内容。
2、小组合作背诵:是课堂上在老师指导下进行背诵的一种重要方式。学习中除单个的句子外,其它的材料均可以采取小组合作背诵的方式,因为这种 方式可以使学生处于兴奋愉悦的状态,从而避免枯燥乏味,让学生表演对话就是一 种常见的合作背诵方式。不属于对话类型的材料也可以采取合作背诵方式,如:两 个人进行英汉口头互译,即一个学生将一句汉语,另一个学生接着把它翻译成英语,或者一个学生将一句英语,另一个学生马上把它翻译成汉语。这种方式对于培养学 生临场口译能力很有益处的。
四、背诵的方法及策略 背诵和学习过程中的其它活动一样,也需要讲究方法和策略。如果对背诵活动缺 乏深入的思考和准备,简单、机械地朗读、背诵,不但不能发挥背诵应有的作用,而且浪费时间,打击学生学习的积极性和信心。因此,英语学习者应掌握以下背诵 方法和策略:
1、根据音标及常见的读音规则来背诵单词。首先,可用音节来记忆单词。读单 词的时候,不妨一个音节一个音节地念清楚,然后按音节顺序拼出单词,这样,即 7
使一些乍看令人生畏的长单词也能很自然地拼写出来。其次,可根据字母组合的基 本读音规则来记忆单词。在学习过程中,我们要留心观察,善于总结发音规律。
2、根据关键词背诵句子。在背诵的英语句子中,一般都含有一两个语言点,我 们可以以这些语言点为关键词来帮助背诵。例如:It was under attack for 900 days,but the people of the city never gave in.就可以以其中的两个知识点 under attack 和 give in 为关键词来帮助记忆此句。
3、根据句子主干背诵长句。对于较长的句子,可以提取主干,然后补充细节。如: It soon become clear that the straight part of the chance chang when the sun‟s position chang.句子的主干为:It become clear that…,在 that 引导的主句从句中,又有一个 when 引导的时间状语从句,清理句子结构,你就会记住什么时间、什么地点、什么事情。
4、根据大意要点背诵篇章结构。对于段落或篇章,先要摘清文中讲了哪些方面的内容,把握句子之间的联系,然后抓 住要点并扩展开去,联想细节,补充内容,背诵便可以顺利完成。犹如作画,先构思好整 幅画,然后用墨,一挥而就。例如,议论文常常按照论点—论据—总结或者论据—论 点---总结的顺序来写,学生在背诵时可想一想:作者的论点是什么?是如何论证 的?有哪些论据?这些论据是如何排列的?把握句子之间的联系,不仅能够帮助学 生快速记忆文章,而且有利于培养学生的逻辑思维能力。另外,在背诵时还应注意要实行过度复习。学生经过努力,能够背诵精选的材料,表明暂时完成了背诵任务,但极易遗忘。所以背诵之后,切不可终止读记、背诵活 动,还必须再进行几次读记背诵练习,这些练习就叫过度复习。8
