fall
fall back（intr）后退，撤退（指有意识的行动，与fall behind不同，后者是不由自主的）：
As the enemy advanced we fell back.敌人向前推进，我们就后退了。
fall back on（tr）退而求其次地使用某物：
We had to fall back on dried milk as fresh milk wasn't available.因为找不到鲜奶，我们不得已使用了奶粉。
