The Group of Twenty(also known as the G-20 or G20)is an international forum for the governments and central bank governors from 20 major economies.The members, shown highlighted on the map at right, include 19 individual countries—Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, France, Germany, India, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, Mexico, Ruia, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, South Korea, Turkey, the United Kingdom and the United States—along with the European Union(EU).The EU is represented by the European Commiion and by the European Central Bank.The G-20 was founded in 1999 with the aim of studying, reviewing, and promoting high-level discuion of policy iues pertaining to(适宜，与 ……有关)the promotion of international financial stability.It seeks to addre（处理）iues that go beyond the responsibilities of any one organization.Collectively, the G-20 economies account for around 85% of the gro world product(GWP), 80% of world trade(or, if excluding EU intra-trade, 75%), and two-thirds of the world population.The G-20 heads of government or heads of state have periodically（定期地）conferred（商议）at summits since their initial meeting in 2008.With the G-20 growing in stature（声望有所提高）after the 2008 Washington summit, its leaders announced on 25 September 2009, that the group would replace the G8 as the main economic council（委员会）of wealthy nations.Since its inception（起初）, the G-20's membership policies have been criticized by numerous intellectuals, and its summits have been a focus for major protests by anti-globalists, nationalists and others.二十国集团（英语：Group of Twenty Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors），又称G20，是一个国际经济合作论坛，于1999年12月16日在德国柏林成立，属于布雷顿森林体系框架内非正式对话的一种机制，由七国集团（美国、英国、法国、德国、意大利、日本、加拿大），金砖五国（中国、印度、巴西、俄罗斯、南非），七个重要经济体（澳大利亚、墨西哥、韩国、土耳其、印尼、沙特阿拉伯、阿根廷），以及欧盟组成。按照惯例，国际货币基金组织与世界银行列席该组织的会议。20国集团的GDP总量约占全球GDP的85％，贸易占全球贸易总额的80%以上，人口约占全球人口的2/3。
20国集团建立最初由八国集团的财政部长于1999年9月在美国华盛顿提出的，目的是防止类似亚洲金融风暴的重演，让有关国家就国际经济、货币政策举行非正式对话，以利于国际金融和货币体系的稳定。20国集团从2008年起召开领导人峰会。随着20国集团的架构日渐成熟，并且为了反映新兴工业国家的重要性，20国集团成员国的领导人于2009年宣布该组织将取代八国集团成为全球经济合作的主要论坛。
