ABSTRACT
The modern society is deveoping rapidly.Nowadays, Emotional Quotient plays an irreplaceable role in a person’s life.The Emotionl Quotient consists of five abilities, i.e, the ability to know one’s mood, the ability to control one’s mood, the ability to stimulate one’s mood, the ability to know others’ mood, and the ability to handle interpersonal relatons.This paper illustrates the necceity of cultivating students’ Emotional Quotient in English teaching.Emotional Quotient development is eential to students’ English learning.To cultivate students’ Emotional Quotient in English teaching, English teachers must have three abilities.Firstly, tthey must be knowledgeable and competent.secondly, teachers must establish a harmonious relationship with their students, which is the foundation of quotient development.Finally, teachers must have good ideas in the claroom instrction.Only by owning these abilities, can English teachers stimulate students’ intersts, and cultivate their social ability and cooperative spirit.Key words: Emotional Quotient;Emotional Quotient teaching;the relationship between teacher and students

摘要
现代社会是一个更新迅速的社会，要想跟随时代潮流就必须不断的更新自我完善自己我。社会激励的竞争，越来越明显的发现情商在一个人的一生中起到了不可替代的作用。情商主要包括五大方面的内容，分别是认识自我情绪的能力，控制自我情绪的能力，自我激励情绪的能力，了解他人情绪的能力，处理人际关系的能力。本文认为在教学中要注重培养学生的情商，特别是英语教学中情商的培养更显的重要。情商与英语教学的关系是相互促进，相互发展的。要想在英语教学中培养学生的情商，首先英语教师具备自身的能力优势，这样才能在学生的心目中树立榜样威信；其次教师要与学生建立和谐融洽的师生关系，这是情感教育的基础；最后在课堂中教师要有新意，从而调动学生的兴趣和培养学生的交际能力和团结协作能力。
